29 Oct 19 Comment I also like Judy's version, and agree on the small boat telling us about the enormity of the place. Stacking is something I see a lot of in the macro sites I visit. Some of the insect images can be a combination of 20, 30 or even more images, and the clarity is astounding. No reason to expect less from stacking this scene. Oct 24th
29 Oct 19 Comment The second image isn't a "clean up" of the first, it's a different image, with the elk's legs situated differently and more of the environment evident in the background. I like the second better. Oct 24th
29 Oct 19 Comment Cars and trucks, old or new, all give me trouble. Can never find a composition I like. I do like this composition, the colors blend very well, and the deterioration is very evident. Very nice image, Judy. Oct 24th
29 Oct 19 Comment Coming in at the end, I like Karen's crop and darkening, combined with Tam's vignette. Oct 24th
29 Oct 19 Comment You need at least one really dark object to make a decent mono/B&W image and you've got three good silhouettes. Wondering if you applied a little burn (did Bill just suggest a bit of PP???) to that top area it would make it a little less objectionable? I like the image - lots of angles, lines and shapes - and those three silhouettes. Oct 24th
29 Oct 19 Reply With the small amount of PP knowledge I possess, replacing the sky is akin to my being able to understand and interpret hieroglyphics. Oct 13th
29 Oct 19 Reply Bob, I definitely got a laugh out of the last sentence. For more on this topic you should slide over to Group 60 and look at the comments on my image there this month. Oct 13th

60 Oct 19 Comment Denise, I hereby proclaim you the Queen of Soft Pastels! The perfect flower + lots of patience = a great image. Oct 24th
60 Oct 19 Comment That's a really nice shot of (probably) a baby Jumping Spider out looking for a meal. I know it's a Jumper and I'm guessing it's a baby because of your "tiny flowers" comment. Jumpers are the largest family of spiders at over 10% of the spider population. I'm always on the lookout for them! Really nice image, Angie! Oct 24th
60 Oct 19 Comment I also like everything about this image. I think the softness is really useful in drawing our eyes to the stamens. Nice job, Bob. Oct 24th
60 Oct 19 Reply Thanks, Carol. If I'm not mistaken, those little white dots are pollen. Oct 24th
60 Oct 19 Reply Thanks, Angie. Oct 24th
60 Oct 19 Comment Coming in late after three weeks in Europe, but I have to agree with the close cropping crowd - this flower is just so gorgeous on it's own that the background, though very nice, isn't really necessary. Oct 24th
60 Oct 19 Reply Thanks, Bob. You can see my response to Denise for what I did with the sharpening. Oct 11th
60 Oct 19 Reply Thanks, Denise. I hit the "auto sharpen" just before I saved the image after resizing it. I thought it was pretty sharp SOOC, but couldn't resist giving it a slight boost. Guess I should learn to leave well enough alone! Oct 11th

80 Oct 19 Comment I like your choice of B&W, I think it works very well with this image. Good composition and clarity. Nov 2nd
80 Oct 19 Comment I like your choice of B&W, I think it works very well with this image. Good composition and clarity. Oct 30th
80 Oct 19 Comment I have a granddaughter who would be in the exact position, wearing the same clothes, as the girl in this image. Nicely composed, sharp and colorful, and I definitely agree with Jim that getting low to capture the image is a big part of why it works. Oct 30th
80 Oct 19 Comment Smart phones have definitely been catching up with the "real" cameras, and this image is proof of that, with good color and sharpness. I'm a little more skeptical - I think he's either napping or checking his email! Regardless, it's a nicely composed image that relates the story the viewer applies to it. Oct 30th
