Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
29 Sep 19 Comment Based on the title, I prefer the color - you can see the path more clearly than in the mono version. I like the branch in. Sep 24th
29 Sep 19 Comment I'm curious about the sky being too bright and the center of the image being to dark? What camera setting will cause this and can it be corrected only in PP? I know Bob will read this and I'll probably get an answer! I agree with comments about what I just mentioned and like Stephan's changes. Sep 24th
29 Sep 19 Comment Really good image. I agree with the aforementioned minimal cropping of sky and water. Sep 24th
29 Sep 19 Comment Very cool image! I really like the colors. Where is this? Doesn't seem that it could be in a public place. Did you use telephoto distortion? Sep 24th
29 Sep 19 Comment I always look at the image before reading the description. My first reaction was "WTHIT?". I guessed I was looking at some kind of chute - I guessed wrong.
Looking at the comments and Judy's playing with the crayon box, I think it's not competition material.

60 Sep 19 Comment Ha! I was wondering if anyone would pick up on the shadow of the unseen dragonfly. Good eyes, Angie. Sep 24th
60 Sep 19 Comment Thanks, Denise. Sep 24th
60 Sep 19 Reply Thanks, Carol. Sep 24th
60 Sep 19 Reply Thanks, Bob. Sep 24th
60 Sep 19 Reply We'll have to agree to disagree about the dragonfly. The little bugs stayed because nothing I tried was completely successful in removing them without distorting the flower. Sep 24th
60 Sep 19 Comment I like your idea, but not your tactics. I've tried this a number of times and the biggest thing I think I've learned is that you have to forget about most of what you're seeing and concentrate solely on the droplet that's going to provide the refraction which is the real subject. Getting in very close would have provided, I think, a stunning vision of your garden, squeezed into that little drop of water. I hope you do just that and post it here! Sep 24th
60 Sep 19 Comment Very nice composition, good coloring, sharp focus stacking. Mission accomplished! Sep 24th
60 Sep 19 Comment I think you have a good composition and colors in this image. I'm curious about what appears to be a white light at the flower's core - did you backlight it? Sep 24th
60 Sep 19 Comment From an article in Picture Correct entitled, "Photographing Wildlife: The Eyes Have It" by Andrew Goodall, ...if you can capture the eyes effectively in a wildlife photograph, you have achieved the main ingredient of a great image.
I've chased a lot of these little guys (most have eluded me) and getting the eye is difficult. Like that the almost all of the remainder of the image is blurred, drawing our attention to the eye and face. Nice shot!

60 Sep 19 Comment Just wondering if anyone's going to the conference in Spokane? I'm starting an Alaskan Inside Passage Cruise tomorrow, then spending a week in the Seattle area before heading to Spokane and the conference. Would be nice to meet with any of you who are also attending. Sep 7th

74 Sep 19 Comment Very good motion image with the subjects in sharp focus. I agree with the comments to blur out the background. Wondering if you approached this as a panning shot if that would have taken care of the background problem? Sep 23rd
74 Sep 19 Comment In your converted version, I think the head/neck need to be darkened a bit. The composition is good, as is the sharpness. I also think this is better in color. Sep 23rd
74 Sep 19 Comment A very good portrait which, to me, tells a story of the mother teaching the cub how to see. They both appear to be fixed on some object (animal?) the we can't see. Good choice for a monochrome conversion. Sep 23rd
74 Sep 19 Comment Quite a transformation, Angela. I agree with the idea of darkening the background. Sep 23rd
74 Sep 19 Comment I like the image as it is. What others are referring to as a "clock tower" is, in fact, a clock at street level. It's Arne's camera positioning that makes it seem as if it might be a tower. I would probably have cropped out the small amount of the building on the right edge of the image. Sep 23rd

80 Sep 19 Reply I'm glad you posted this comment Bev. I was reluctant to make the first comment about not seeing a cell phone. I like the image for what I think it is - a man taking a break from walking. I like the composition, colors and clarity. Sep 23rd
80 Sep 19 Reply Thanks, Jack. Where's your sense of adventure? ;-) Sep 21st
80 Sep 19 Reply Thanks, Jim. Sep 21st
80 Sep 19 Reply Thanks, Ed. I was hoping for that juxtaposition, but not counting on it. I really like her reaction. And, she never said a word. Sep 21st
80 Sep 19 Reply Yeah, Bev, you're right. I don't think she was the least bit happy that I pressed the shutter button. Interesting to me is the fact that I have the Fuji set to silent, so she never heard the shutter. Sep 21st
80 Sep 19 Reply Stephen, if you've been trying Street Photography for a mere two months, you shouldn't be surprised that you haven't gotten a shot you're happy with. I probably shoot a few thousand street images each month and I'm really happy if I get a handful that I'd consider good enough to post for discussion in this group. It's not easy. Sep 21st
80 Sep 19 Comment I like the idea, but I can't see a phone? Sep 21st
80 Sep 19 Comment I agree with the other comments here. I also think the background is really "busy", and it's overwhelming the rest of the image. Sep 21st
80 Sep 19 Comment I don't think the blurring of the boy in background is due to the use of a macro lens. I think it's that you were panning the boy in the foreground and that, combined with your 1/100 shutter speed blurred everything going the in the opposite direction, which should be expected. Sep 21st
80 Sep 19 Comment I'll jump on the B&W bandwagon. I, too, think that the image is a lot better in monochrome. I think the story is not just what your subject is thinking; it's also about the mystery of who the other person is and what he/she is thinking. Sep 21st
