Jim, I certainly did not mean to disparage folks who find indoor photography to be something they like and challenging. I have tried it a few times and it just doesn't excite me. I always remember one of my father's sayings, "That's why Breyer's makes chocolate AND vanilla."
I get your thoughts about the bird shots at your club. I've been to a number of club competition meetings as a guest and seeing what goes on is why I haven't joined any clubs and why I have no interest in entering any competition. I, too, like macro (Group 60). |

This NE'er escaped to Florida in mid-February. I've been doing that for a dozen years. Seemed to me that the worst weather in the Philly area was mid-February through the end of March. I usually head home the first/second week of April. And, oh yeah, I'm warm. |

While I appreciate what I see of other folks indoor shots, it's something I have just about zero interest for. One of my favorite sayings is "I'm taking my camera for a walk.", and that doesn't mean from room-to-room.
I'm in agreement with the group about the dirt specks. And I'm not so sure I like the stem from the lower glass. Karen's idea was pretty cool! |

I agree that you do a nice job with show images. I also like the adjustments that Judy made. Very nice capture Tam! |

Interestingly, I have been going to a place named Blowing Rocks Preserve on Jupiter Island in South Florida for the past 6-7 winters and watched the sea turn it into Spitting Rocks Preserve!
Nice sharp composition. I like Bob's lightening. |

Nice sharp, colorful image with a good POV. I'd like to see about half of the right side and a bit of the bottom cropped out as I think it's extraneous. |

Very sharp, nicely composed image, that I agree should be cropped a bit. Welcome to the group! |

I like everything about this image. I like dark background which really brings out the light on the man's face and torso. The image is really sharp and the colors are very good. Very nice capture Bob! |

I had read an article written by a street photographer about that Android app and I wanted to try it. That's why the seemingly weird choice. About the lifeguard shack - I was sure someone would not like the darkness. Here's my take on that - it was dawn - the sun was in front of the shack - if you were standing where I was standing, you'd have seen a dark shack - I left it that way. Personally, I don't think lightening it adds much, if anything. And yes, it is leaning - it's on sand and, I think they're meant to do that so the lifeguards can pick up speed as they run down the ramp. |

Bev, There are other trees you can't see because of where I chose to stand for the shot. I didn't want more than 1 tree in the image and I wanted to include the lifeguard shack. Not much of a choice about where the tree was gonna show up. |

I like your changes Karen. I've done some darkening for silhouette effect in other images, but I haven't a clue about how to mess around with saturation. |

Thanks Bob. I tried to get a position to separate the shack from the clouds but each attempt made something else unacceptable to me so I went back to my original spot. More surprises in store for you next month!!! |

Welcome Doug. Can't tell you how many times I've pointed my camera at similar scenes of the same flower and insect. I'd suggest cropping out the "berries" below the flower as I don't think they add to the image. I think the image shows good color and is definitely sharp, and it might be a bit more compelling if you cropped out some of the right side and put the focus on the flower and bee somewhat equally. |

This is a great image to be viewing in warm, sunny Florida! My children & grandchildren are complaining about enduring their fourth nor'easter, so you may have another chance to work on your snow shots in North Jersey? Very nice image - very good exposure to capture the right colors, like the shutter speed catching the flakes, and the composition is very good. |

Like Carol's image, this offers us a very sharp focal point while providing the counterbalancing of the OOF leaf in the immediate background. Very nice, very well-composed image. |

As one who frequents Farmer's Markets and probably annoys some people with taking pictures of just about every fruit and vegetable on display, I really like this shot. I particularly like your shallow DOF, drawing us to the apples in the front of the container, as well as the string & staple. |
