Spokane will be good - I've never been to the NW. What's the weather like at that time of year? |

Wow, what a terrific image. There are close-ups and then there are images close enough to count the pores in the subjects face! Love the texture from top to bottom. |

Another really nice dance image Tam. The only suggestion I have is to straighten it a bit to correct the tilt that Bob mentioned. |

I'm drawn to stands of trees, almost regardless of the type. I like the image, both with the boulders and without (as in Bob's cropping). The red leaves are really attracting as a background to the trunks. Very nice image. |

I like the idea and agree with Bob about the color, sharpness and light. I wonder if it would have been better had you gotten a lower perspective and eliminated the section in the upper right, which I find distracting and don't think it adds anything to your image. |

I've looked at this image a half-dozen times and each time I have the same two thoughts - this is something I'd expect to see in a doctor's waiting room and is that water in the background? Obviously, I've never been to the Palouse. I'm sure you can clear up the question. I think it's a really nice image, interesting composition, lots of color and pretty sharp for 1/2 sec. exposure on a windy day. |

Thanks, Carol. Entering my images in contests is something I never give a thought to doing. I've been to a few camera club competitions and saw what I thought was some of the most subjective, and sometimes biased, opinions rendered. Keeps me from even joining clubs that have those kinds of events. |

This image is almost mesmerizing, Lou. Blacking the background probably does that by making the flower seem to levitate. I agree with Carol that there are some spots where you've blurred the flower. Very nice image. |

I happen to think that Red-winged Blackbirds ARE the best. But, as my dear departed dad liked to say, "That's why Breyer's makes chocolate AND vanilla!". I like most of what Lou did, with the exception of the treatment to the flare area, which has a lot of distracting circles. As someone who does really minimal post-processing, I wouldn't know how to do what Lou did, let along do it better. I think you got a really good capture, Carol. |
