Mary Ann, thanks for your comments and suggestion of straightening the trees a bit. The straightening does help. Unfortunately aspen trees don't always grow straight. Between the wind, hillsides, and avalanches, aspen trunks can be quite wonky. |

Joan, I did crop out part of that tree on the right side. The branches sticking out looked awkward. |

Robert, I like your 4th of July composite a lot. Nice use of your eagle. |

Joan, I enjoyed your action shot of your playful kitten and watchful cat. You did a nice job of cropping the bottom to keep the bottom of the door frame, but keeping my focus on the cats. The blur of the kitten lets me understand his playful movement. I found with your sharpening of the older cat's face, the pixelation became more pronounced and to me became distracting. To me, the original showed some spots in that area that are difficult to remove. Your photos shows the distinct difference in personalities between your cats. How fun! |

Mary Ann, I appreciate how you captured the hummingbird mid-flight. They are so quick, that while they're feeding is the best time to take photos. Your cropping and adjustment on the background helps bring the focus on the hummingbird. The blur on the wings while keeping the bird's body sharp works well. I too would like to know the shutter speed that you used to keep the bird's body sharp. The bright colors of the flowers creates a cheerful image. Nicely done. |

Kieu-Hanh, the composition of the scene works well to include the motion of the fisherman as well as the waterfalls. The timing of your shot captures the spread-out net which explains the fishing technique used. The color of the water is especially striking. |

Robert, I appreciate the details of the eagle's feathers and the sharpness of his eye. His pose allows me to see his body well, including his feet. Your cropping works well too. As Andres and Joan mentioned, blurring the netting in the background would keep it from being distracting. Including his full tail feathers would be helpful if that was possible from your viewpoint. |

Andres, I really like the image you created, which looks more impressionistic. The textures you added give a painterly look with more texture. The spot of golden fields gives a bright center of interest. Bravo to you for taking a class and learning a new technique! It's a lovely image. |

Mary Ann, I like how your doorway image captures the sense of depth. It works well in monochrome, which emphasizes the repeated arches. I think it gives a feeling of peacefulness without people. |
