Mary Ann, thanks for your comments. I agree that sea turtles are amazing creatures and even better when you swim with them in the ocean. They glide seemingly without effort through the water. |

Joan, the nighttime lighting of this photo of Valparaiso captures beautiful reflections in the water and action of the port. All the lights shining on the Valparaiso hills make a beautiful background. It sounds like an exciting cruise! I hope you were able to explore Valparaiso in the daylight too. All the murals on the buildings are remarkable. |

Mary Ann, I love the rich colors that are in your photo. You've chosen a line on thirds for the cluster of grapes, which works well for your composition. The lighting is a challenge, even though the red and green leaves are brightened with the sunlight. You could consider using a radial mask in Lightroom to lighten and brighten the cluster of grapes, since it's backlit. Lovely fall image! |

Kieu-Hanh, I'm so glad I read Joan's second comment. That stream of cider arching into the glass is fabulous! I didn't see it initially, but thought that the man was simply showing the glasses to the onlookers. I suggest that you consider lightening the stream of cider slightly, so it's more visible. That steam of cider makes the shot! |

Robert, I like your inventive low camera angle. It does give the illusion that the line of pumpkins goes on and on. I also appreciate your composition with the diagonal line of pumpkins leading to the disappearing lines of pumpkins in the background. The fall colors make this a pleasing, seasonable photo. |

Michael, I must admit that I had to study your photo a moment to figure out what was happening, since the cell phone was blocking the tip of the spout. Like Andres, I appreciate the old and new technology, especially using the cell phone to light the barrel's hole. The lighting on the man's face is especially dramatic. I like your composition with the lines of the men's arms and the spout. Great journalistic shot! |

Andres, I like the luminous sheen that the museum walls have in your evening shot. You've emphasized the shapes of the architectural design that look abstract in your evening lighting. I appreciate the deep blue sky with the hint of clouds for the background. Nicely done. |

Thank you for your comments, Joan. We have also seen green sea turtles in the Galapagos Islands where we snorkled as the sea turtles swam beneath us. An amazing experience! |

Michael, thanks for your helpful comments. As far as not getting too close to the turtles, the lifeguards on the beach have a solution. Red cones are placed around the turtles to provide a large safe zone where people are not allowed. There was also an endangered monk seal resting on the beach one day. I was pleased that the cones kept the monk seal from being disturbed. |
