3 Sep 23 Comment Joan, I like the puppy's expression and the catch lights in his eyes. Your seemingly simple photo has wonderful composition with black leading lines from the dog carrier straps and the touching inclusion of the supporting hands. The dog's rainbow suit against the turquoise shirt is a terrific color combination. What a fabulous image with a positive message! Sep 14th
3 Sep 23 Comment Mary Ann, what a great capture of this bright goldfinch. How fortunate that he was sitting on a coordinated orange sunflower too. Your photo is sharp and your cropping gets me close to the bird. I agree with LuAnn and Michael that increasing the exposure is beneficial. Sep 14th
3 Sep 23 Comment Kieu-Hanh, not only is the mosque building beautiful, but the tilework leading to the mosque is lovely. Your editing has added richness to the color of the building. The repeating archways are so interesting and sharp. I agree with Michael that the overly bright sky and speakers detract from the building itself. I do like Michael's version that makes the scene more dramatic. I think that cropping out some of the sky is an option to consider, but of course that decision is yours. Sep 14th
3 Sep 23 Reply Thanks for your comments, Michael. I was intrigued by the bird too. Sep 14th
3 Sep 23 Reply LuAnn, thanks for your suggestions and comments. I will try increasing the brightness. Sep 14th
3 Sep 23 Reply Robert, thank you for suggesting lightening the bird's head more. I will try that. You are correct that the light is a challenge in the shot. I'll see what further editing can do to improve it. Sep 14th
3 Sep 23 Comment Robert, I'm jealous that you have a tree producing such luscious fruit in your yard. Your image is sharp and features good lighting. After seeing the inside of the fruit, I can imagine you have the subject matter for a whole series of still life photos. A combination of a whole fruit with a cut one could be quite interesting. Trying different backgrounds, plates or fabrics, and a variety of lighting could be fun. LuAnn has included some wonderful suggestions. Enjoy your exploring, Robert! Sep 14th
3 Sep 23 Comment Michael, your timing of the shot is terrific! I'm impressed that you captured such a great sunburst in your scene, since it makes your shot. "Twilight of the Gods" certainly is appropriate for this color version of your photo. Your original has a blue sky and golden glow of the building, so you could realistically add more vibrance, saturation, or other editing to bring up the color as LuAnn suggests. Sep 14th
3 Sep 23 Comment I appreciate your inclusion of the Japanese couple, which adds to the peaceful scene. The gateway forms a lovely frame for the coupled gives a sense of place. The rich green of the background is pleasing to me. I agree with Michael that the base of the gateway and stone at the entry would help the scene. I played with using the transform tool to straighten the roofline of the gate, since it's leaning in the opposite direction of the fence. I'm not sure it's an improvement, and your edited exposure level is better. Definitely an image with good memories for you. Sep 14th
