Joan, the lighting on the rocks is gorgeous. I really like the colored layers of rock that feature natural diagonal lines. The contrast between the warm browns and the bluer background is especially nice. Your image makes me want to visit Death Valley to take some photos. |

The image reminds me of photos with textures that I've taken at a junk yard. The windshield glass and paint weathers in interesting ways. So that would be my thinking about your subject. |

Mary Ann, I like your peaceful sunset vista. The cropping is effective in eliminating some of the sky, so my eyes focus on the hills and water. Nice job of adjusting the color of the sunset. I agree with Michael that a higher f/stop would give more detail to both the foreground and trees along the water. |

Kieu-Hanh, your dahlia image works well in b&w especially because of the variegated petals. Your cropping helps to eliminate distractions. Having the middle of the flower slightly off-center adds interest. I'd prefer that the dark center have a few lighter areas to let me see the texture of petals more clearly. |

Thanks for your comments, Ruth. We were so fortunate to visit Telluride at its peak of color. I have taken photos at this small lake during the fall before. At times we've had striking blue sky with puffy clouds. However, I do like the more brooding clouds too. |

Michael, thank you for your comments and suggestions. I appreciate your suggestion to lower the exposure on the more distant trees to create more of a feeling of depth. While I understand why you suggest lowering the saturation, I might admit my memory is of the glowing yellow colors. |

Ruth, the facial expression on the man's face is priceless. I do like the slight desaturation of the yellow background. The yellow gives the image a cheerful note, especially with the man's smile. I'd prefer a slight cropping on the left side, since the man's arm is balanced to the right. |

Michael, your Milky Way photo looks fabulous! The dark skies of Hawaii certainly make the stars more visible. Please, I really like the foreground of the old car. Your light painting with the flashlight work well to make the car a center of interest while keeping the Milky Way so visible. How fantastic to have the opportunity to explore Hawaii! |

LuAnn, I enjoy the mysterious feeling that your abstract gives me. Brightening the turquoise and oranges while keeping the contrast works well. The blob on the bottom gives the feeling of a being looking over the scene. The texture makes the scene quite interesting. What fun! |
