3 Oct 20 Comment Lisa, I think your cropping and editing makes this a fun scene. The bright colors add a lively spirit to the evening shot. My original thought was to "light" the lantern on the left like LuAnn did, but I understand your preference for the tension and realism of the scene when it's unlit. I agree with Kieu-Hanh that you were clever to notice the scene. Oct 16th
3 Oct 20 Comment I like that you've captured the smile on the rider's face and the movement of the horse. The rising mist gives me a feel of the coolness of the beach and the excitement of riding on such a morning. I do appreciate Isaac's edit, since I prefer the rider to be riding into the space and not be in the center. Oct 16th
3 Oct 20 Comment Kieu-Hanh, I appreciate the simplicity of the scene and the emotional setting of your image. The lines of the pavement and reflection of the solitary visitor work well. For me the yellowish-green of the grass and turquoise-blue of the sky are too upbeat for the somber scene. The color change that LuAnn suggests would work. Have you considered using a black and white conversion for your image? It could make it more dramatic. Oct 16th
3 Oct 20 Reply LuAnn, thanks for your comments. I did enter this image in competition and straightened the line of the lake before I did so. I entered the image in the "open" category, so I was allowed to clone out hikers among other changes. Oct 16th
3 Oct 20 Reply Mary Ann, You're right that darker shadows of the hills in the background would help. I had brightened the shadows to lighten the foreground flowers, but needed not to overdo it. I appreciate your comments. Oct 16th
3 Oct 20 Reply Thanks for your comments. I can see why you like the dark clouds, Kieu-Hanh. I was trying to stay more faithful to the weather of the day, which wasn't that ominous. Oct 16th
3 Oct 20 Comment Mary Sue, I'm impressed with this lovely image, especially if it's your first attempt of shooting the Milky Way. I really like the floating mist over the landscape and the brightening of the foreground grass doesn't bother me. The details of the Milky Way are well captured. Unfortunately, it's very hard to get away from light pollution even miles from cities. Oct 16th
3 Oct 20 Comment In my opinion, the rain makes your eagle image unique. You've captured the wet weather as well as details of the waiting eagle. The positioning of the eagle between the branches works well too. I agree that a tighter crop, especially on the left would help, but I understand your hesitation due to loss of sharpness. Oct 16th
