Yes. I'm not suggesting a lot of cropping, just a touch off the right side. |

I love the vivid golden colors of sunset. The silhouettes of the birds and bit of grass provide an enjoyable center of interest. Since you didn't have clouds to provide variation in the sky, I'd prefer a much tighter crop. I'd crop the top half of the sky, some off the bottom, on the right to include the grass, and cutting off the dark bump on the left. How fun that the birds cooperated so they didn't overlap! |

I like that your image of the memorial is so quiet and has so few people. The duck on the water adds to the peacefulness of the scene. Especially the lady in red with her reflection is a nice human element. In my opinion, the time of day with its harsh lighting and very white sky is a challenge. I'd love to see this scene in evening, especially if the lighting would enhance the reflections. |

I appreciate your decision to focus on just the statues and doors of the cathedral. The lighting on the doors works well to let me see the depth of the doorway. I like that just one of the doors is open. Although you straightened the image already, it still looks slightly tilted down on the right side. I'd prefer a crop on the top to just the line of top stones and to the edge of the entryway stones on the sides. |

I like the simple scene with great textures. Your processing works well, enhancing the earthy colors and textures. The diagonal lines of the pocket and twirls of the tape measures provide interesting lines for my eyes to follow. I'd prefer slightly more saturation on the orange pencil to highlight its contrast to the green measuring tape exterior. Well done image! |

I appreciate all the details that you've captured on the grasshopper, especially the markings on his eye and antennae. The blurred background and subtle contours of the leaf work well. The cropping you used does eliminate distracting lines and light spot, however, I'd prefer slightly more cropping on the right side to give him more space ahead of him. |

Larry, thanks for visiting our group and writing comments about my image. Yes, I did process my photo to emphasize the whites and the feeling of cold. I wanted to focus on the powerhouse and the waterfall. With that in mind, I darkened the field of white snow on the left and muted the coloring of the autumn trees so they weren't a distraction. However, your comments make we rethink my choices. I could certainly leave the original colors of the cliff and original, brighter colors of the trees in front. In your opinion, is that a better choice? |
