LuAnn, if your intent was an altered realism look, then I think you've been successful. My comment was just that the reflected flower didn't look realistic to me because the water lines were so regularly spaced. However, that wasn't your intention. |

I like the colors and slight angle of the blossom. Using a black background sets off the vivid colors of the flower. How fun that you've experimented with macros, textures, and overlays. For me, the water texture and coloring of the flower is too regular to look realistic. Perhaps blurring the reflection in spots or darkening part of the reflection would make it look more realistic and therefore more pleasing as a scene.
No, I haven't used textured overlays. However, you know from last month's photo that I have experimented with composites using textures. They are fun to try out for effect. |

I like the close-up of the little lions while we can still see the wall in the distance. The composition works well for me. Because you've increased the saturation, the red, orange, and blue of people's clothing really stands out, maybe too much. For a travel photo shot, I wonder if judges would prefer a higher aperture, so that the Great Wall was more in focus. |

Fatih, I like that you've captured the little girl happily skipping rope in the street. Her red shirt draws my eye and connects with the red and other warm colors of the buildings. Your image effectively captures the mood of street. I'd appreciate hearing more about where you took your photo. |

I like how you've effectively used the panning technique to blur the background, yet keep the motorcycle in focus. The position of the cycle with space ahead and complete inclusion of the flag is just right. You could consider cropping part of the sky to just below the wires. Leaving just one set of wires might make them less noticeable (or you could clone them out if they bother you). |

Lovely image, Randy! In my opinion, this is one of the best photos that you've shared in our group. The slight diagonal of the butterfly and it's vivid colors set it off from the white background. The couple leaves above the Monarch are just enough contrast in color to make the composition complete. Well done! |

Beautiful photo! I like the symmetry of the bridge and the pattern of the repeating arches. In my opinion, your processing has made your image has made the scene even more dramatic with the golden glow and stronger line of turquoise. Like Randy, I'm curious where the PAG Bridge is located. |
