I'm jealous that you visited the Amazon rainforest as well as Valparaiso. Sounds like a wonderful trip. |

LuAnn, thank you for your comments. I like your revised version of my photo. I agree that a different cropping does eliminate the high-rise building that doesn't seem to fit with some of the other buildings. Although I avoid heavy HDR effects, I'm okay with a more realistic amount that fits the image. Welcome to our group, LuAnn! |

Sharon, thank you so much for visiting our group and for your comments. I strongly encourage a visit to Chile and Valparaiso in particular if you ever get the chance. My husband and I took the bus to Valparaiso for just a day and were enchanted by the city. |

Beverly, thank you for your comments. I agree that the colors and winding street compete for attention. I suppose for a competition I should choose a different shot or crop this one significantly. That's great advice.
However, to me, this image with it's a bombardment of color and hodgepodge of house types is the true Valparaiso. You can see in the bottom right corner that a house has a large mural. These murals are all over town. Hundreds of them. Valparaiso is a artistic city of charm that is indeed "messy." The question is, "How much do I edit or crop out, but still keep the vitality of the city?" |

I'm impressed that you took such a nice shot through a window. You've captured the subtle colors and textures of the feathers. I agree that the branch across the bird's tail is distracting. I find the blurriness of the bottom left branches pulls my attention away from the bird. |

Where did you take your image? How wonderful to see the capital glowing through the window! To me, the light on the capital building is the most dramatic part of your image. I'd prefer that the view not include the ramp or extra divider of glass. |

I remember this image from an earlier submission. Congratulations for selling a copy of it. I like the contrast of the brightly colored mailboxes. Although the red and blue graffiti adds interest to the image, to me, it is sad to see its presence on a public building. |

What a cute dog! I like the textures of his hair and nose. I find your idea of putting the dog in the fancy frame a light hearted choice. In my opinion, the colors and swirls of fur and frame connect together. |

The iguana is certainly well hidden. I can understand why you didn't see it at first. Your photo does communicate how well camouflaged the iguana is. His skin color matches the leaf color so well. I'd prefer that the iguanas head be more visible without the branches blocking our view. |
