What a cool event to pair photography with student poetry writing! The lily pads that seem to float in the sky did cause me to look more closely. It's an interesting combination, especially paired with the pumpkins stacked below. I find the dark circle in the middle right to be distracting, since I'm not sure what it is. |

What an enjoyable image! I appreciate that both the water scene with the whale shark and the view of silhouetted visitors work together in your image. The composition with the whale shark moving forward and upwards works well. |

I like the dramatic position of the hawk's wings. The feathers and eye are sharp and include a spectrum from light to dark. Your rich blue background works well to set off the bird. Well done! |

For me, the moon and its placement adds to the peaceful composition of your image. The horizontal lines of the roof and porch give a calm to the scene. I like the lighting on the porch that accents the window. |

Jim, I prefer your image with the horses' heads up, since there's more of a connection with them. However, the "heads down" version groups the horses closer together, which is a strong arrangement to me. The fall colors in the foliage add to the image. |
