I like the bright colors of the peacock's feathers. I agree with Marion that the body position works well on a line of thirds. In my opinion, the bottom cropping lets me see a beautiful feather line. I would prefer that the grass be blurred and darker, so my focus is more on the feathers. |

Marion, I enjoy the beautifully lit still life that you've shared. To me you achieved the old world look that you sought. Your scene is rather complex, but I think your choice of items with a common theme helps. I agree with Stephen that the right side feels somewhat awkward with the bread and scoop cut off, since the light color of the bread draws my eye to the side. In my opinion, you could have omitted the bread and scoop, arranging it so the white garlic was bumped over and not way on the side. Kudos to you for exploring still lives and all the complexities of lighting and composition! |

Kieh-Hanh, I love that you share images from cultural events you've experienced.
The vivid colors give me a sense of celebration. To me, your composition and cropping capture the scene well with the whole dragon, the performers, and audience. I think it's a strong journalist image with nice detail on the dragon's head too. |

I wish I had a radial filter to try out on this shot. With PhotoShop CS6 (yes, an old version) I don't have that option. I did dodging on the whites of the eyes and burning around the irises and eyes. However, this wasn't a shot where I had used a reflector. Jim had suggested a "love" theme for February, so I thought this image fit. |

What a fascinating find! I like that you've gotten close and show the details of the grasshopper. I agree that its coloring is unique. |

I like the composition of your scene with its beautiful reflection of lights. Your choice of buildings with the circular one just off-center is quite pleasing to my eyes. Nice starbursts on the street lights too. |

Jim, what a lovely scene! To me, the lighting on the jagged mountains adds so much to the image. In my opinion, the contrast in the clouds and mist make the view more dramatic. The light on the mountains makes them my focal point, but a bit more autumn color high in the trees right below that highlight would be beautiful too. |
