What an interesting thought to flip the image. I'll try it. |

Jim, thanks for sharing your ideas. I agree with reducing exposure in the bottom left and top right. |

I think your set-up with the dark cloth background and LED lights worked well for using your macro lens. I like the color version better, since the oranges, yellow, and green provide such nice contrasts. I'd prefer a cleaner composition with the largest blossom against the plain dark background. The leaf in front of the main blossom is distracting to my eye. I like your idea of using glycerin with water for the droplets, but I agree that they're probably a bit heavy. Jim, I appreciate your suggestion about just practicing. I should do that more often. |

At first glance, your photo looked almost surreal to me. The lighting of the water reflection fooled my eyes by looking like the rectangular scene was added to the boat house interior. You've exposed well to get good color and focus on the water as well as the boat house interior. I'd prefer that more of the foreground is cropped out to focus on the water reflection. Well done, Randy. |

Lisa, what a terrific lightning strike! I love the combination of city lights, tree silhouettes, and lightning. I agree with Jim, that cropping on the right and left would strengthen your photo by eliminating the water drops. It sounds like your photo tour was quite an adventure! |

I enjoy the vivid color and energy of your image. The artist has certainly hidden the lines of furniture with the continuity of circles and dots. In our club this kind of image wouldn't be allowed for competition, since it's another person's artwork. However, I think it's a fun, light-hearted image.

Punkaj, welcome to our group! I like how you've captured the contrast between directions of rush hour traffic. In my opinion, the black and white works well to focus my eye on the lines of cars. I agree with Jim that highlighting (with a bit of dodging) one car would add interest to the image. |
