Welcome to the group, Lisa! Your scene with the man at the Wall with the Washington Monument in the background provides me with sober reflection. Your camera angle makes the scene powerful. I think that b&w is an effective way to focus my attention and increase the impact of your image. Well done. |

I like the cloud reflection and the shadow of the water lily. Water lilies are some of my favorite flowers in aquatic gardens and the pink color is pretty. Your composition and placement of the pink lily work for me. I find the lighting is rather harsh and keeps the lily pads from showing their best colors. |

I got the historic Ute photos from on-line. Once I had the idea of using the "eyes" of the trees, the historic images seemed a better match than faces I had in my files. |

I can almost hear the water flowing as I look at your peaceful photo. You've done a nice job of bringing down the highlights, so they are balanced with the rest of the lighting. Is this an interior waterfall? Since you volunteer at the arboretum, it might be worth exploring what time of day has the best light, especially if you wanted to slow the shutter speed for silky water. |

The textures of the door and stone are my favorite elements in your image. How cool to see the ivy hanging in front of the door to add the feeling of a hidden secret. I'd like to hear where the door is located. |

I especially like the puff of steam from the moose's nostrils. The soft orange light along the horizon and background field give me a sense of time and place. I agree with Randy that the clarity of the image at ISO 3200 is exceptional. I've seen a number of moose in the wild in Colorado over the years, but I always find a sighting special. Well done, Jim. |
