To me, these are two different image. The lake, homes and mountains have a beautiful calmness and crispness. The sky is just too strong for me. It is jarring and I can't decide what to look at. I would tone down the sky, bringing down the blacks a bit. |

The drama of the sky and the lines of the fence work wonderfully together. You were right to think of this as a B&W image. It works remarkably well. |

It feels as if the heavens are sending down it's bounty to this scene. I love the sharpness of the boat and the rain blurred background. I too am not crazy about the rain drop blur, but if you like it, that's what matters. |

This is such a wonderful image. I think it's successful in both B&W and tinted. I appreciate the way the tint blends the sky and corn together. The machinery and the birds add such a wonderful mix of human-made and nature. |

Personally I love shadow photos and understand completely what attracted you to this scene. My recommendation would be to lighten the hooves of the camels (especially the front hooves). This note only would provide a focal point, but would tell the story of this image more clearly. |

I agree with Paul that the monochrome has much for depth and interest than the color version. Personally, I would crop the bottom a bit and the left or right so the house is not smack in the middle. Tonally and texturally the image is beautiful. |

As I explained in previous replies to comments on this image, I submitted a pure monochrome image and for some reason Lightroom and Photoshop changed it to sepia. That was not my intention at all. I will bring this issue to the attention of On1 Raw. |

David, Thanks for the suggestion, I darkened the sky a bit, not as much as you did but a little. One thing I'm confused about. The image on my computer and as I post proceeded it, is pure B&W. I don't understand why it's showing here as if there is a sepia tone. With pure monochrome, the building stands out against the lighter sky. |
