For me the curve of the bridge makes one wonder where is the road leading the viewer. And the sunset is beautiful. Nicely done! |

To me this is a very thought provoking photograph. I can't add anything that hasn't been said. What a treasure for Jack when he is older!! |

Sunflowers must have been a theme this month!
Blues and yellows always create a beautiful, happy mood. The blurred background works for me. I feel the cropping is just a bit tight. It's just me, but I would like to see the whole rock on the right as well as the whole vase as in the original. Thanks Henry! |

I like the bather placed where he is. The colors are amazing and work so well together. I have a lot of questions, and it makes the photo one I keep going back to look at over and over. Are his hands in gloves? Are they orange from dye? Well done and once again, you take us to places I will probably never get to see. Thanks!!! |

Concentration is what comes to my mind. It is written all over the face of the sailor.
I think the cropping is perfect. You don't really know if the sailor is in the middle of a lake, ocean, pond. Very nice! |

Thanks Andrew. As I recall, there was a slight breeze. I'll be more careful next time! |

My grandfather's Jenny Lake Studio has been moved 3 times. In it's current location, it is a Ranger Station. In the back there is a tribute to grandpa. Their is only one so that's the one you visited!!!!
I do use automatic focus and do take pics in Raw. I'll take your advice. Thanks so much! Gosh, there is a lot to learn!!!!

Thanks Alison. I'll check out the lens. It's new, but you never know. Maybe it's the operator!
Yes, the Tetons are photographed to death. I have a bit of history there. My grandparents homesteaded in the Tetons in the early 1920's. My grandfather, Harrison Crandall, was a photographer/artist. He was the first GTNP official photographer. He built the Jenny Lake Studio and used it to sell his photos, prints, paintings. To this day, I can find his work throughout the valley. I can't validate this story, but I understand my grandfather showed Ansel Adams around the valley showing him many places to photograph. I knew grandpa and grandma well and they had many stories of homestead life, life in the early Tetons, dude ranches, etc. I was born in Jackson and since we have a small place in Kelly, I return several times a year. There is a beautiful book written about my grandfather, and he's written up in quite a few others. I have a lot to learn, and the Tetons is a place I shoot, but for personal reasons. |
