1 Nov 24 Comment Picture perfect and you were ready to shoot. Excellent capture for 1/500. I'm thinking you caught the whale at the right moment. At its peak, stops, then descending. I have missed quite a few at 1/800. I went to a seminar last week and the presenter recommended 1/2500 for wildlife. Kind of a guaranteed setting if it works with the rest of your settings.
