That is a good idea with the shallow depth of field and monochrome. The aged totem through monochrome as the back ground.
I took a lot of I guess typical totem pole images while in Alert bay and this one lying on the ground I never gave much thought too turned out to be the most interesting. Which on looking back I might of just been trying out my new 50, 1.8 lens. |

Good thoughts Lee. I might of freshened up the colors In LR a bit to much too which I thought of while I was editing the photo. |

Conflicting thoughts I'm having with the spiral, uniform predictable pattern of the shell against the poor rock. Humorous contrast. |

It looks like all your hard work paid off. The colored layers and shades makes for a pastoral scene. I might of tried some different positions for framing the image with the tree. I find that the tree blocks my view while I still like it in the photo. I resized the photo with the column in mind. |

Excellent recovery. It looks like everything was there just as you had remembered it. Your post makes me wonder about all the images I have deleted over the years. |
