You seem to delight in images of doors and windows which I think is to commended. The image to my eye is slightly soft, particularly the planter with the flowers in it. These subjects need to be tack sharp to get a nice rendition. |

Not sure how I feel about this image. I like the idea of the smooth water that is well exposed and not just a white blob, but my eye is confused by the water droplets. I personally would just show the long exposure shot as I think it can stand on its own. |

A REALLY NICE capture here, Herb. It is so nice at so many levels, ie composition, story-telling. This already excellent image MIGHT be enhanced by warming it up a bit as it has, to my eye, eye a slight bluish cast. Adding a very subtle vignette might also help draw our eyes to the center of interest--the sleeping child.. REALLY NICE CAPTURE!!!! See VF |

Wow, you pick the most interesting places to visit. That structure on the left looks like a huge boat that is placed on top of the building. Interesting image. I agree with all of the above comments and would suggest that you crop out that bright red ball (buoy??) as it is to my eye very distracting. Nice Job. |

Boy, you don't pick easy subjects to photograph!!!! To me, car shows are NOTORIOUSLY difficult to shoot well because of all the distracting elements in the background. That being said, this is a REALLY NICE image. Because of the prominence of the car, the people in the background are secondary subjects and my eye stays fixed on the car. This already excellent image MIGHT be enhanced by adding very slight vignette to further draw our eye to the main subject. As an aside, a professional car photographer once told me that when photographing a shiny car, you are not only photographing the car, but also all the reflections on the car. He will sometimes take advantage of this and place the car in a position where he can can an interesting reflection, ie a city skyline, etc. VERY NICE JOB!!! |

This was a VERY hilly area with multiple trees everywhere. When I see a crooked horizon line, I first like to look at the vertical elements in an image (ie Trees) to see if they are vertical and if they are I tend to discard the horizon line. HOWEVER, in this image, I agree that the horizon line is a bit off kilter. The issue of brightness is a bit of a problem. All of us have different luminance settings on our monitors--mine are set at 120 candela/m2. I have increased the exposure by 1/3 of a stop and see if you think this improves the image. Thanks for you comments. I think they have helped me improve the image. See VF |
