I really like what you are trying to do here, Diana. The focus is sharp and the exposure is very nice. the image might be enhanced by bringing out some of the shadows along the dike. In addition, you might try cropping a bit of the sky out as it does not appear to be contributing to the image. It might be helpful to add a bit of cooling with the temperature slider so as to give it sort of a blue appearance. in the future, you might consider trying to get in more the reflections into the image as I think it would be more interesting than the sky. Nice job. See VF |

I appreciate what you're trying to do here, Herb. These rodeo shots are extremely difficult to shoot sometimes. Fortunately, you had a good lighting situation and were able to use a very fast shutter speed. You've done a very nice job of freezing the action on this calf roping contest. There appears to be some postprocessing issues under the subjects left arm and you may want to correct this. To my eye, I am drawn by all the yellow in the background which detracts me from the main subject. The image might be enhanced by decreasing some of the yellow color and focusing the attention on the cowboy and the cow. See what you think. See VF |

Once again, David, you got a really interesting image. There is detail everywhere and it is literally a visual feast. Images well focused and well exposed. There is a bit of a corner tangent on the right which is Donna says tends to pull your eye down in that area. However, overall the images very well done. GOOD JOB |

Another nice image, Rich. the image is well focused and nicely exposed. As Donna pointed out, there is an edge tangent on the left, i.e. the shutter, which could be croppped out. To my eye, the image has a slightly bluish cast. This is confirmed on the histogram. You might try increasing the temperature of the image and Lightroom. See VF-NICE JOB |

I like what you're trying to do here. The perspective is very nice and the focus is very sharp. I especially like the highlights that clearly define the automobile and you've done a very nice job with this. To my eye, there is complete lack of detail in the shadow areas of the subject. In Lightroom if you'll check the clipping slider you will see that almost the entire front of the car is clipped-meaning it is black with no detail and we can recover no detail in the area. It blends completely with the background. If I can use the analogy of a black cat in a coal bin, in order to see the cat, the cat has to be a lighter black then the coal (ie black with detail) otherwise, you just see two eyes staring out. In order to get the most detail from your blacks, you might try considering a concept called exposing to the right-ETTR-- check it out on YouTube. |
