Nife Job!!! A GREAT example of selective focus. The image is well exposed and sharp--which is mandatory for bird shots. GREAT JOB!!! |

Nice shot, David. The exposure and composition are spot on as is the lighting. Nice Job and good eye. |

this is a very nice shot of the sunset, Diana. From a capture standpoint, I have personally found it better to underexpose the image by about one third of a stop in order to maximize the colors in the background. In addition, bracketing your shots by about one third stop gives you more options. From a postprocessing standpoint, the image appears to be slightly flat. In order to increase the total range, I find it is helpful to try this and Lightroom. Develop module> Basic> Shift+ double-click black slider and then shift+ double-click white slider. This will allow Lightroom automatically set the black and white points which gives you the maximal tonal range in your images. You can also do this manually by holding down the alt key and then clicking. Adding some vibrance and increasing the contrast will do much to improve this image. See VF. It would be interesting to see what other members of the group think about when they do sunsets. |

This is a very nice capture under very adverse situation. The lighting in these cases I have found be almost impossible to correct. If you happen to have a X-Rite Color Checker passport to use as a reference this is very helpful. To my eye, the image appears to be flat. Image might be enhanced by increasing your white and black points to provide the maximal total range that needed an image like this. the image also might be slightly color corrected by adding a bit of warmth to it. Nice image. |

WHOA, Mark. this is really a very unusual eclipse image. The usual images that I've seen thus far have been very clear images and are not very interesting. The clouds, in my estimation, add so much to this image. They gives it an almost ethereal appearance. This is one of the better eclipse images I have seen. It might be improved by cropping a bit camera right to remove the black area which is not contributing to the image. This is a really great job. |
