Hi Michael: I really like your composition of, as you called them, weird rocks. The foreground adds interest and a whole different set of textures from the rocks behind. Your exposure and post camera processing are spot on. Happy Christmas to you and yours. |

Hi Susan: Ok, first of all, how cold was it? Your composition is really good & is almost perfect for high key. Very nice image. Best wishes for the Holiday Season. |

Hi Ed: I like the cast shadows of the windowpanes. To my eye, the scale of the flower vase & flower arrangement is too large, and some got lost in the cast shadow of the windowpanes. If this were my image, I might consider positioning the flower & vase more toward the left-hand side of the image so that it would be in total light vs 1/2 & 1/2. That way, the flower & vase would also cast another shadow independent of the windowpanes. Just a thought. |

Hi Peter, Another great landscape. I love this church with a great background. The headstones make for an interesting foreground. Everything in your image is in focus & well exposed. Happy Holidays! |

Hi Ian: Lighting for portraits is a tricky business. Sometimes two lights are used one for the back, one for the front. Window light without flash sometimes gives a softer effect without glare or hot spots. The highlights Peter pointed out are examples of glare & reflections from shiny objects which are a distraction. Having said that, I think your effort is commendable given what you had to work with. |

Hi John: Your image certainly fits old & older and in the corner. Interesting shapes and textures, however, it appears to be a bit flat to my eye. Happy Holidays! |
