Hi Nick: My first impression was: WOW what a great leading line. You cannot miss what the subject of your image is...As I took a second look, the sky takes 2/3 of the image which made me question my first impression of the house and fence being the subjects. Your image is tack sharp and beautifully exposed. If this were my image, I might consider a different crop, perhaps a 16 x 9 (?) and if necessary, move the clouds down so they remain in the image. OR, possibly adding a slight vignette??? |

Hi John: Street photography is a real art and skill in capturing extemporaneous moments as in your image. The ability to see life unfolding and capture that in an instant is the challenge. To my eye, you were able to capture the moment. I do agree that sometimes less is more. To my eye, the subject is the gent walking out of the alley and spotting the lady window shopping. If the signs above are cropped out would the context of the image be changed? It would depend on what your creative eye wants to convey. |

Susan: What a cool shot! Beautiful light on the iceberg and it really does look like a fish...an Icelandic fish. The black sand helps the iceberg stand out and the wave of the sea in the background really adds to your image. |

Hi Ian: I love the light you were able to capture in this image. I suspect the color version is lovely as well. You have a great eye for seeing these things and making a great image. If this were my image, I would be careful in toning things down .. a little goes a long way. |

Hi Peter: Ok how cold was it? Another great landscape! You made a dull day look wonderful. I like the rocks in the foreground, to my eye they serve as a leading line to the volcanic plugs in the background. The horizon appears straight, and the clouds are a real plus. I really admire your enthusiasm as a photographer, and it is so apparent in your getting these wonderful winter photos while the rest of us are in a warm cozy place. |
