Hi Ed: Shooting wildlife is sometimes being in the right place at the right time with the right camera, lens and settings. I was shooting into the sun and, she was lit beautifully. I had my lucky horseshoe with me the entire time :-) |

HI Nick: Thank you for your nice comments and suggestion. I only used NIK and Photoshop on this image - nothing else. |

HI Peter: The film days seem so long ago... we are dating ourselves :-) ... B U T... the quality still shows! Scottland is on my bucket list and looking at your image makes me want to visit even more. I suspect this image is beautiful in color as well. The house on the left-hand side gives a sense of scale to the image. Very dramatic and beautiful landscape image. |

HI John: Horses in silhouette are lovely. There is just enough light to make details out. Having said that... a close look at the standing horse on the left hand side has some black dots above his/her back...I da no ... from post camera processing or dust on your lens? A very nice composition! |

HI Nick... I love owls! Your image even captured the water droplets coming off his/her feet at take-off. If this were my image, I might also consider removing the post and adding 1 - 2 inches of canvas space to the left-hand side of the image. That would give the owl a bit more room to fly in the image and also give you the ability to adjust the crop so the bird is more or less centered. |

Hi Peter... thank you for your suggestion... I think you not only have eagle eyes... B U T owl eyes as well. I did go back and darken that branch and it DOES make a big difference. Thanks again! |

Hi Ed: What a beauty! Wow! I love old cameras and your image really captures the spirit of this "guy". I also like your selection of both foreground and background to compliment your vintage subject. Your image really gives a sense of the past and how far we've come with photography equipment. The crazy in me just came out... and, if this were my image I might have put some reflection in the lens of the camera ...very soft, but slightly visible... :-) Just to direct a bit more interest toward the very cool camera. |
