HI Ian: Thank you for your comments... this is one of the more obscure arches in the park, taken at sun set... that is why there are so many shadows and the arch is still in light I had to climb a hill to shoot this image.. and, for me it works... and probably works better in color. Just one of those things. Thanks again |

Hi Ed, no focus stacking on this image, but did hyper-focal range with my professional workshop leader at my side. The shadows in the image show it was shot at sun set, but, the arch is still in light. A difficult image to capture with very different light being cast. Thank you for your comments... I used a 24-105 lens |

John, in reality, this particular arch is quite small compared to other arches in the park. The image was shot at sun set as you might be able to see the shadows. I would not consider this a scape type shot with broad landscape terrain, but, instead, tried to focus on the arch and land features leading up to the subject. Thank you for your comments |

Peter: The high key application for this particular landscape appears so flat that much of the detail seems to be left to the imagination. The figures are a plus |

Peter thank you for your comments... it might not work for you... but, it does seem to work for me... your memory does fade over time, and perhaps that is what might have happened? |

Hi Rashid: A very cool Venus de Milo indeed! Actually, at first glance, I thought it was one of the Beatles.. silly me. To my eye, your image seems a bit light and, might benefit from a levels or curves adjustment...That process might darken the scarf around her neck and give a bit more definition to her hair. |

HI John: I love spotting these kinds of "cool" things while just walking around. To my eye, your image has a nice leading line and a sense of place with the background water in view. I like your composition very much, and, technically well done. I'd bet this is nice in color as well! |

Hi Ed: I love your image just as it is! The fine details and shading in the water and sky ADD to the context of your image. Without any thing.. except the boats... they would appear to be floating in space. Great job.. the only thing I might try if this were my image is a slight vignette... it might not work... but, might be worth a look-see. |

Hi Paul.. another image where the eyes have it! Beautiful catch light, technically well done, nice tonal values. To my eye, the tree trunk is taking 1/3 of the image real estate which, in my opinion, belongs to this baboon (?) If this were my image, I might consider cropping off more of the tree trunk to make the central focus the baboon. |

Hi Ian... lucky you! I am envious... what a great shot.. and, to get the field working experience with Terry... priceless! My opinion, to my eye, the "hot" spots along her right side and shoulder grab my attention away from the model, perhaps a bit of dodging might help? Ian, looking forward to another one of your interesting portraits! |
