I cropped this image rather tight to keep the focus on his face and hat, rather than on his very elaborately decorated attire that he was wearing. To my eye, his clothing, while attractive, was extremely busy as you can see from the area shown in the image. I do appreciate your comments and may enter this in competition as I have repaired that light area as both you and Peter pointed out. |

HI John: I am not quite sure what you were trying to capture in this image. I do appreciate the reflection/cast shadow which seems to turn the half piece of branch into a circle. To my eye, the image appears a bit flat, if this were my image, I might consider darkening the background to make the 1/2 circle branch stand out a bit more. If possible include more background to give context to the image as well. |

An interesting image. My eye kept going to the man's feet and legs, which looks like a post processing unfinished bit? The image looks a bit flat with no tonal values to the sky which is a large percentage of the image. I would consider increasing the saturation and explore the possibility of giving the sky some definition/interest. |

HI Peter: Thanks for your keen observation...and comments.. I did try one version with a black background but decided on this one instead. I repaired that light area that you pointed out on the original... now, given your feedback, I might even enter this handsome top hat guy into competition??? |

Hi Ed: WoW! What an interesting image. I love the detail and texture of the wood...You nailed the exposure and captured the light on the wood perfectly. The open window gives the viewer something to ponder as to what might be inside. Great image |

Hi Ian: Another interesting character! Some of the characters wear off-center make-up and puts them a little out there... at least they get noticed...which is, probably, the desired effect. I think this image works in BW, to my eye, her face appears a bit hot from the flash? This could be toned down a bit in post processing. I like the way you handled the background, giving no question as to the subject of your image. Nice image |

Hi Darrell: A visitor from Group 31... Your image really tells a story. Great composition. To my eye, the shadows are as important as the lights and highlights - you managed the lighting with your speed lights like the master of the craft you obviously are! Technically well done with excellent post camera processing. The two bottles on the window ledge are a plus. Outstanding image! |
