Ella - as Michael has suggested the deor and the image do not tie up. From the deor I can picture in my mind the image to which it refers as posted some time ago.
However the stair case image posted is a classic with the bannisters providing a strong leading line. Overall the compositiom is spot on, the lighting well handled. With regard to Michael's comment re. the bright area on the left there is detail there which could be extracted on a masked Nik Detail Extractor layer |

Susan - I'm not a portrait photographer either, but can appreciate a good portrait such as your image when I see one. The highlight detail in her dress has been retained well, but I feel that the skin tones could be lifted a little.
Michael's method of selective sharpening is the technique that I would use when necessary. |

Michael - a dramatic image of the fallen tree which nature has positioned perfectly to provide a good diagonal flow in the image. The use of a very long shutter speed has added atmosphere to the image which is so well composed. For me the bonus is in the sky where the dark patch of cloud top centre is in alignment with the upper branch of the fallen tree. Nicely done! |

John - an interesting study of shapes and textures. The ill fitting door in the frame adds another dimension to the image. Michael's edit puts a little more life into the image. |
