Ella - a good choice of species for a mono conversion which, as usual, is well processed and presented. Brightness of the image on my Eizo monitor is absolutely fine and I would not suggest changing anything. |

Nick - a great waterfall shot - not the Bridal Falls that I am familiar with in Yosemite, but impressive nevertheless. Your shutter speed is spot on.
Like Ella I prefer to see the top of the falls and agree with her suggestion to darken the right top. I would also darken the bit of sky at the top of the falls - that bright spot tends to draw the eye. |

Ian - somewhat macabre, but these bikers do love their skeletons and skull and crossbones! Well spotted and, as usual, processed to near perfection. The diffused/OOF background works well and makes the mirror image stand out.
I would change nothing except for darkening down the lower RH corner. |

John - a well spotted and thought out image which many of us would have passed by! I do like the interplay of the trunks and shadows and the correlation of the shapes. |

Hi Susan - welcome to our Group! Always good to have a new face aboard and I look forward to seeing more of your images. I have been to June Lake in the Fall many years ago, but only captured colour images - the colours were outstanding as I recall.
There is nothing to improve re. composition in your image, but I find the snow covered mountain to be a little 'muddy' and the sky is losing detail both of which detract from the impact of the image.
I have made a quick edit of your image below. I noted that the image is in grey scale which is prohibitive in terms of adjustments - use RGB. Image converted to RGB and a NiK CEP 4 Detail Extractor layer applied using default settings. A mask applied to that layer to mask out the foreground.
A technique which I often apply to an image which contains snow, in both colour and mono, is to apply a Curves layer in PS (I use CS6) and set the white point on the brightest piece of snow and then reduce the opacity of the layer slightly - 75% generally works for me. In your image the foreground is again masked out.
Although not perfect I feel that the image now has more impact.
