One of the issues which sometimes arises when scanning very old (30-40 yrs) slides. Barely visible in the colour version, but somewhat enhanced in the mono conversion. I clearly overlooked them - my bad! Rectified by cloning in darken/lighten mode as appropriate. Thanks for pointing out the fault! |

Your crop improves the image, but as Ella noted a little more space in front of the owl would be beneficial.
Relative;y simple to achieve by enlarging the canvas to the left and transforming a background selection to fit. A square crop seems to suit the image well. See below .... |

Very well caught, Ella! Position of the wings spot on and the owl looking directly into the camera a real bonus. Your choice of background works well with no distractions.
A minor gripe - the highlight on the branch behind the owl is a little bright IMHO. |

Ed - that brings back memories as I have similar camera which originally belonged to a press photographer for a major daily newspaper.
Very well captured - the lighting has been handled well to give a limited, but effective tonal range. |

A superb capture Nick - wings in perfect position and the menace in the owl's eye draws the viewer in.
I find the post in the lower right a major distraction and IMO the image benefits from it's removal. A crop off the right could be beneficial for balance. |

Very nicely caught, John. The position of the horses is ideal and the sky detail a bonus.
I think the image would be strengthened by cropping to 16x9 - the bald sky at the top of the image does nothing to it IMHO. |
