Ella - a pleasing composition in which the curve of the path adds an air of mystery and implies a journey into the unknown. The strong side lighting which produced the shadows which caught your eye has been handled well and without the shadows on the bridge walkway it would have been a rather bland image. As it stands it has a feeling of depth. I get the impression that the trees in the background are a little 'crunchy', but suspect that this is a lighting effect rather than anything else. |

Ian - As you say maybe not to everyone's taste, but well done never the less. The toning works well, but the overall composition does not sit easily on my eye - it seems very unbalanced and the panoramic view seems to accentuate that, although I'm not sure what else you could have done.
We always say - if the image pleases you then it has succeeded, if it pleases others that is a bonus. |

Paul - a great image which captures the mood of the moment and the joy of the young man.The viewer is left in no doubt that it is raining - heavily!
Processed pretty much to perfection - maybe a very light vignette would concentrate the eye a little more to the main subject - Nik Colour Efex Pro 4 - Lighten/Darken Centre. |

Ed - Without a distinct focal point the layering of the landscape and the mist/clouds are not strong enough to hold my attention. I would respectfully question the suitability of the image for conversion to mono.
Ella is right in that there is a blue cast in the image as revealed by the histogram below which indicates that the conversion has not produced a true monochrome. I clearly have no idea of the method used for the conversion, but would highly recommend the Nik collection (free from DXO) - Silver Efex Pro 2.
Using Nik Colour Efex pro 4 I applied some tonal contrast to your image and it certainly pops, but the atmosphere induced by the clouds is lost IMO so that is really a non starter. |

Rashid - The minimal lighting in the corridor creates a very moody image with good symmetry. The nurse caught in just the right position in the frame and the trolley with just a hint of rim lighting essential to the overall composition and adding to the story/setting the scene.
I am in two minds as to whether the window at the end of the corridor is a distraction or not, although it serves to add depth to the image. On balance I would look at the effect of toning it down.

John - a well seen composition with the 3 trees and the foreground rock giving depth to the image. However it would seem that you had to deal with very flat lighting - no evidence of any shadows and this makes the production of a punchy image difficult.
As it stands the image is rather flat with a limited tonal range. In my edit below I have cropped the image - the large area of grass in the foreground does the image no favours IMHO, applied Tonal Contrast in Nik CEP 4, adjusted the mid tones and applied a graduated Curve to the top of the sky to darken it somewhat. |
