Glad you can appreciate something creative like this.
Water reflections are very artsy and much can be done with them. A lot depends on the motion of the water and clarity of the day. The more color in the image the better the result. Fall colors sometimes bring out the best images. Thanks for your appreciation. |

At first glance I thought this image was from Mano Lake. Apparently Jerry also had a similar feeling. Yes, I agree that skillful processing gave this image color and life. I was also interested in the water reflection as a watercolor abstract painting. I Cropped and left a bit of the land as a base for the abstract to sit on. I flipped it vertically and horizontally, enhanced the color, cropped some real-estate from the left and added some to the right to improve the composition. Hope some of you feel it has some merit. |

In the 70s and early 80s, sun flares were considered a no, no, but now they are a creative enhancement. It is a mater of preference. For me in this case I think it added life to a mundane image. |

Very nice Mike. Apparently your camera settings paid off... Just a point of information for those who may not know. Since the post shows that it was cut off, it is known in Nature competitions as "The presence of the hand of man" and therefore this imaage could not be used as a Nature picture. |

I find this work of art very busy and one that needs lots of studying. However, as you say Jerry, I must compliment the skill of what the artist can do and free-hand at that. |

Yes, at first glance this image looks very realistic and although in the exhibition world it is considered recording someone else work of art, I would have recoded it too. I like better the second image because it does not give me the feeling that they are going to walk into a bush. I am sure the umbrella can be fixed and I would crop a bit more from the top. Also consider adding some creative enhancement to make it YOUR work of art. |

Yes Marti, I too loved this technique, but do not remember how. This is a good idea, however, this image appears to me somewhat unbalanced. Consider the following. It appears to me that it has too much negative space on the left and too heavy on the right. Also the horse's left eye and ear merge right on the edge of the frame. I am sure all this can be fixed by using some of the latest seperation techniques and using a larger frame. Also I would consider giving the horse more life by brightening it and pumping the contrast a bit. What do you think?
