Thank you for your appreciation Bev. I suggest you start out with any basic design, then just keep repeating the same step, five, six times and see what develops. |

In spite of all its flows, I consider this a story telling image and one of competitive value. It has human interest.
Yes, I also agree that what is done is done, as we often cut heads of people. But I was curious and I took the liberty of extending the canvas and see what Content Aware would do, no, not much help. I then tried filling in with the Clone Tool. I then went to Filters >Neural Filter and Depth Blur to blur the background. To my eye and for someone who may not know, I think it takes some of the attention away from the horse. Someone more skillful, I am sure can do a better job. |

Beautiful colors and pictorial effect. I suggest to Content Aware the foreground posts and wire, in order to get as much of the interesting foreground as possible and crop some of the less interesting sky at the top. |

Well, now you are testing my memory. I did this some time ago.
As I recall, I first used Rectangular To Polar (I may have flipped it, but I am not sure.)
Then I simply went to Filter >Polar Coordinates and repeated the same from the drop menu, 5 times and titled it "5 times". Once finished, I selected the subject carefully, inverted and made the background black.
I just tried it and although I got a bit different result, that is the basic idea. A lot may depends on what percentage and where the image is set on the screen.
Try it, you'll like it! Hope this helps. |

Based on your processing, this image gives me the appearance of a scene at dusk. I imagine myself sitting on a porch with a glass of wine and looking at this peaceful scene until daylight is totally gone. It has a nice tone of colors and multiple levels from foreground to background. I would say the entire image is the composition and a keeper as well. |

Yes, well done Al. I agree with Peggy and Marti. The image has a dimension of its own. The colors blend in nicely and it has a pleasing look, not only as a painting, but as an etching as well. I am sure the texture of the canvas is perfect for it. |

Needless to say Peggy, you did an excellent job of bringing this image to life. Your sky and clouds are just perfect for this image. Yet, I can't help but wonder if a little more foreground would give a longer sweep to the lighthouse? Also, what if darkening the reflection would make it stand out better and what if you were able to take the picture from further left, creating a diagonal line to the lighthouse? Would it be better from the left or from the right? Yes, an interesting lighthouse and certainly a good place to return at different seasons.

Mike, it appears that you have stumbled on a goldmine of pictures. I see your intent and I like what I see. Apart from the condition you described, you have so much to choose from, the lock, the twigs with the cactus, the texture, the knots in the wood and there must be so many other interesting images around the house. Go back and get more. |

You are welcome Gunter, I am glad to have been of help.
Another suggestion for you is to go to Ps under Filters and play with the Polar Coordinates filter.
I hope I am not misunderstanding your question, but if you want to look into my group and others, all you have to do is to go to the top of your page and either click on CURRENT IMAGES or VISIT ANOTHER GROUP and select any group number you desire. Good luck and have fun. Posted: 08/06/2022 09:12:15 Reply Edit Delete |

Wonderful work Gunther. I would try cropping more from the right and centering the image and flipping it upside-down. Also try the same technique with images that have multiple patterns. Good luck! |
