Peggy, my point was that if the stems are pointed to each other or the center, it will give more the impression of the pears (or any item) to be part of a unit, instead of pointing away from each other. |

Jerry, thank you for clearing this up. When you mentioned Facebook, I immediately related to someone else's work.
As for the picture itself, it is your interpretation that counts the most. |

Thank you for all the appreciation of my image. Mylar reflection abstracts are fun to do and they are not hard to do. Figure spotting is the best part of it. Thank you and try it some time. |

I do not see a problem using someone else's work for personal use and experimentation and with no intent to exhibit or make a profit. But perhaps Marti and Barbara are more qualified to address that issue. . . After all your manipulation, I believe you have a pleasing abstract image of your favorite happy star. I am not bothered by the head being cut off, as much as the distraction of the microphone and the white spot under her left eye. In addition, I am sure the composition can be improved by cropping a bit from her left and adding a bit of canvas on her right. I also added a bit at the top and sharpened more. Perhaps you agree and perhaps not. |

Yes, a story telling photo. It has good foreground, middle ground and background. I think that by flipping this image horizontally, you can have a better visual prospective between the collie and the fall foliage. Also, this way you have all the sheep moving to the right. I cropped a bit from the left or flipped right side and gave it a bit of Curves treatment. |

Kaylyn, good job of bringing out this image. I think that the Spey Chics need a little more life pumped up into the scene. (a bit of brightness & contrast, also Image >Adjustment >Hue/Saturation >Saturation) and I know the pipes are there, but they take my eye out of the scene. They should be able to be cloned out. I also cropped a bit from the bottom. What do you think? |

Love these colors especially against the blue sky. You sure stopped the action for maximum sharpness. You also have good size balance. I realize how difficult it must be to get a good composition, but what disturbs me the most is the distance and lack of relation between the two parachutes.
Since you have so much room in the original, I would consider giving more space to the left of the larger parachute. Just to avoid having him crash onto the edge of the frame. Would this help?

Peggy, you are thinking and doing and that is a good thing. I have attempted a few tabletops, with little success, so just know I am not an expert. However, as a unit, I am wondering about the relationship of these pears. Each appear to me to be going in a different direction or doing their own thing. Would it be better if the red pear had the stem pointing to the yellow/orange pear, instead of pointing to the left? Would it be better if the yellow/orange pear stem was pointing to the front, instead of the back? What about a pear cut in half in the dish instead of a whole one? Also, you should be able t get all three pears sharp if you consider an aperture that will cover the depth of field from the front pear to the back of the yellow pear. Again, not an expert, just offering ideas.

Experimentation is what gets us stimulated and gets us to discover new things. You have a different look here, which appears to me to be a frosted look. But I miss all the beautiful fall colors of the original. A bit of cropping on the right may help. |
