That is fine Marti, but I notice tel-tale signs of repetition. There are three levels of repetition in the right bottom corner and in the bottom left edge. You can easily fix that by cloning from another part of the picture. |

Sorry Al, apparently you are not familiar with Nature Exhibitions.
Thank you Jerry for clarifying my comment. |

Kaylyn, as much as I love designs and patterns, I must say I am somewhat puzzled by your image and your intent of the image. Perhaps that is your intent and that is why you did not tell us more. I would guess that the pattern is created by some kind of stacked boards or other matter. In any case, you have a good composition and I consider the subject and focal point to be the entire image. With that in mind, I feel that the entire image should be in focus. Also, to give the image more strength, I would flip it horizontally. Lines going up to the right are stronger than going down. Kaylyn, this is your image and you can present it in any way you want to, but just for comparison, I took the liberty of sharpening, separately, first the 5 top sections, then the 4 top sections, then the top 3 sections and then the top 2. This image has the potential of creating many varied abstract designs. |

This was a nice find Mike. I love the colors and the information. The only change I can suggest is the set this image in a square format.

Nice capture Al. I wish I had one of these. I feel that the empty space at the left is needed to support the span of the upper wing and to give more room for the bird to fly into. Although the image is fairly sharp, for birds in flight, the ISO should be at least 1000. I also suggest that you select the eye and just brighten it a bit; a bit, not too much. Although I have not kept up with the Nature Div. rules these days, but in my days, the ID ring was accepted, but the cut-off stump at the bottom shows the hand of man and was not acceptable in International competitions.

Because of the pearl earrings, I suspect this is a girl. The B&W conversion is a great improvement and fitting with the mood of the girl. |

Good capture Peggy. Nice sharpness on the alligator and the reflection. I agree about the cropping, but I would not go that far down. I would also leave more behind the alligator and crop up to the tree on the left.

Apart from what Jerry and Mike said, I just love the color tones you brought out in this image. I would not change the composition, but I would crop a bit of the sky… I know you wanted to straighten the horizon, but not all horizons are straight. I think if you keep a little slant, it would give the picture more character.
