Very nice result Kaylyn, but other than the water, I too do not see any texture. Good points Jerry, but I do see some depth and curvature on the glass and I think that a subject like this requires some highlight spots. This technique can be challenging and fun to do.

Mike, you must have a special sense for capturing these images. My only two experiences with a Roadrunner were of the Roadrunner zipping from one side of the road to the other, far less having one sit still for me. Perhaps you misinterpreted the assignment, but you sure showed texture on the bird. Marti, your idea is good, but I think you eliminated the contrast needed.

Good point Al. I see what you are saying and I will have to think on how to correct the effect. Any ideas anyone?

Marti, I consider using a sharper image, but then I thought it could conflict with the flower. Yes, perhaps a sharper image could be more effective. |

Good seeing Al. I love the mood of the light and colors. the wall texture is a bit distracting, but it compliments the overall look. Stephen's version is an improvement, but still shows some distortion. It can be easily fixed with the various FreeTransform tools. However, I would Clone out the hot spots at the bottom edge and the wire leading from the vase to the window. Also, crop a bit from the left side. |

Yes Jerry, I love both versions as well, but in your final, I pictured a window pane, which gave me the following idea. Perhaps it will bring you some other idea to work with.

Peggy, I agree with what has been said, but if you like this format, keep it; but just consider another version in the vertical format. The texture works well, which gave life to this image.

Marti, I feel that the texture and color works well on the car, but agree with Jerry and Al, that it is distracting on the background… I do a lot of flipping, but in this case I feel that the original composition is best, because the eye goes to the headlights, then all around and back to the headlights. In the flipped version, the eye goes to the headlights and it just stays there.
