Al, you hit the problem right on the head. I had a feeling that something was wrong, but I suppose I was concentrating on the yellow glasses and overlooked at the distracting white glasses. No, not the best subject for this project. Thank you everyone for all your constructive observations. |

This too is a good subject. Technically Marti, you have a good point, but I feel that the Flag should be considered as a unit and acceptable. However, not sure what the ruling is for Exhibitions. Jerry, you have a valid point, but I like Al's version of cropping, which gives more dominance to the Flag. I would also think that with Al's version, one could clone the shadow all the way down the bright wall area and no one would know the difference.

Al, you too had the perfect subject for this assignment and you did well with it. You did not mention if you deliberately merged the right top tip of the booth with the curve of the bridge, but I think you made the right choice. I agree with Peggy about the brightness of the booth. Her suggestion may work, but what about taking a sample color of the original booth and transferring it to the new booth? I also feel that the booth is a bit centered. there is nothing of interest from the left and I would crop at least half of the broken archway and at the same time include all four palms on the right side. This would give a nice visual effect from the booth to the four palms and back.

Jerry, this was a very nice idea with very nice results. Yes, you did a good job and with little effort. Yes! I sincerely think that this would score very well in competitions. Good luck!

Peggy, your technique was very effective. The door is the subject and although the rest of the image is nice and crisp, it does not complete with the door. Yes, I too like a more contrasty door color and Marti, your version of Orange/Red is more effective for me. Jerry, that was a good point, but I also think that Peggy is right about creating confusion in this case.

Marti, I think your skillful knowledge of Lightroom and Photoshop is well demonstrated with "Baby Pumpkin". I am most impressed with your effective technique and separation of the blades of grass and pumpkin. All has been said by the others, but I feel that Mom Pumpkin has just about the same effect that my white glasses has in my image. Perhaps toning it down a bit would help. |

Our project calls for only one color, but I liked this version as a better pictorial composition. |
