Jerry, I agree about the identification of the parts. The two multi-color sections are mussel shells, which gave some contrast to the other sections. Also, I am sure the results will be much better when the pictures are clear and sharp. |

Thank you everyone for your appreciation of this simple technique. I hope you find it challenging and try one of your own. Thank you also Beverly, for your innovative suggestion. |

Yes, Queen of the Night flowers are challenging to photograph, but the results are worth the effort. You have proven this Vicki and especially with the lovely composition you selected. It works beautifully as a B & W. I confess that I am puzzled as to why you left the sharp edges of the background showing. You can easily clone them out and eliminate the distraction. |

This is a lovely scene, which can render numerous images in any season and any day from sunrise to sunset and even during dark hours. Catching the ships in the background is a plus. To give more room to the right of the lighthouse, I would prefer cloning out the tree branches on the right, rather than cropping them out. |

The 4 x 5 may be a pain, but it sure can bring out the detail in the design. Yes, a bit bright, but very pleasing to look at. I may be mistaken, but was this near the Tower of Pisa? |

Jerry, I agree with Mike. The originals is a much more natural image. I miss the contrast of the tones and shadows. My suggestion is to eliminate the boy on the left and girl in the foreground and leave the man and woman on the right, but not those behind the falls, which are an interesting focal point of the composition. |

I agree with all that has been said and no need for me to be repetitive. However, I think you need to replace what you cropped from the left side. Once you tone down the sky, the foreground grass and the roofing on the right, you will have a more presentable picture. Great job eliminating the wire. |

As Jerry points out, this is a very pleasing scene and you have done a beautiful job of bringing out the colors. The composition is just about perfect and each level has its own character.
Peg, I too thought about one or both heads of the horses being up, but I think that it would create a distraction in the composition. What I love best is that the placement of the horses could not have been better, but acceptable as they are. Please note that they are both to the right of the two trees. Yes, the one on the left could have been a bit to the front or the one on the right could have been a bit to the right, to make it really perfect. |
