21 Jul 17 Comment Joan, this was a lot of painful work, but it sure paid off. Well done! Jul 29th
21 Jul 17 Comment Nancy, occasionally I get a chance to look through other study groups and I am glad I came across your "Breakthrough". This is truly an exceptional work of art and I echo all that was said. Apart from your creative processing, you are also to be complimented on pre-visualizing this work of art. Congratulations! I say you have created something to be proud of. Jul 29th

22 Jul 17 Comment Vicki, I also like to add that it is rare that you would capture two unrelated individuals doing almost the same thing. Both are in the green square and both are doing almost the same dance. I think that, that is unique! Jul 14th
22 Jul 17 Reply Thank you Peggy for your kind words.

Yes, go to YpuTube.com and then in the search box enter: "How to Create a 3D Film Strip". You will see other tutorials and you can learn something different from each one. If you want to try the technique, you will need to record the steps and you will have to be patient with the 'Play" and 'Pause" buttons. Good luck!

22 Jul 17 Reply Good idea Mike, I should have thought of that, but I was too anxiousto get something posted. Thank you for your appreciation. Jul 12th
22 Jul 17 Reply Yes Jerry, one can go one way or the other. I toyed with the idea of "now and then". Now with the closer and larger and then with the smaller and further away. Try both and see which you like better. Thank you for your appreciation. Jul 12th
22 Jul 17 Comment I think this is another good example of pre-visualization. Vicki, you did a good job of bringing out the colors. This is truly story-telling-picture with action and nice dimension. I agree with all that was said. I like your cropping, but I also can see a composition that also includes the boy at the left. You just cannot separate these two! I would say, remove the gal dressed in black and include the family on the left or at least, the little boy. Jul 12th
22 Jul 17 Comment Here is a good example that we do not always need odd numbers to create a pleasing composition. But what I think really helped this picture is: 'pre-visualization'. Mike, you saw this picture even before you looked into your viewfinder, yes? The Masters have said it and we can see that it is true… Yes, Mike, I would consider extending the front of the image a bit. It can easily be done with the Fill > Content-Aware feature.

22 Jul 17 Comment Well, I too look at this as a abstract geometrical image. At this point, I am not sure if the stroke would improve or detract from the image. I think it better without it, it adds to the mystery. The building and the tree, kind of bring us back to reality. Yes, part of the tree against the sky is distracting, but it can easily be removed with the Content-Aware feature. Deliberate or not, the snipped off top left corner, is a good breaking point of the composition.

22 Jul 17 Comment Jerry, I compliment you in seeing and capturing this image. I probably would have passed it right by. As I look at it, not only do I see the tributes that Mike mentioned, but also the strength, the tension and the weight it conveys. Jul 12th
22 Jul 17 Comment Peggy this is beautiful and an image to be proud of and I agree with all that has been said. The composition the sharpness and the formation of the flower could not be better. I agree with Jerry on the right stalk that can be distracting and you can probably remove it with a simple stroke with the Healing Brush. I would also consider removing the three white spots, also with the same brush. BUT, what I really want to compliment you on is that you recognized you had a problem and you went and found the solution to it. Well done!

22 Jul 17 Comment Yes, I too can see how this abstract stump, full of mystery (as per Jerry's vivid imagination) texture and varied color tones attracted your attention. I find the second and bottom golden spot distracting and with your skills Marti, I am sure you can tone it down to the point that it was not even there. Then brighten and make the center golden spot almost "hot"; to add to the mystery.
