Jerry, this is an impressive pre-visualization and presentation. At first look, I thought he was stepping on her toes, but at second look, the shoes appear to be floating in air and although the shadows look realistic, it makes me wonder if they were put there. I would not consider it cartoonish, but rather something suitable for an ad. Photographed as is, or created as is, it demands attention and I would say that you have accomplished your goal. Have no idea as to what you want to use it for, but I think it needs something else to support the idea.

Well done Vicki and congratulations for getting up early. Nice result from the blending. As you can see, taking a last look back, pays off. |

Mike, I am impressed with your interpretation, your photography and your processing. I think you did all the right things. You gave this image the SIS treatment, what a Grand PSA Lady, Min Sapier, FPSA, always thought: Select - Isolate and Simplify. At first glance, I could feel the loneliness, the cold and the sadness. Well done!

Raymond, I go along with your thinking, this is not photography, but creative fun. Some can be controlled, but some is just the wonder of surprise. Recently at the Camera Club, someone tried to define what is art and what is not. My feeling is that there are many ways of artistic expressions and they are mostly in the eye of the beholder.

When traveling and especially when in tourist areas, one is lucky if one can get a picture without someone jumping in front of the camera. John, you had seconds to get the picture and you did what you could. I would not consider this as an artistic expression, but as part of a travel story is executable. My suggestions for improvement, as others, is to crop, to eliminate the window frame at the top, with the Content Aware tool and clean up with the Clone tool, also to soften the ladies in the background.

In spite of the handicap you were phased with, I must say you captured the action at the right moment. In some way, this is an interesting picture, because the legs of the “bullfighter” appear to be an extension of the bull’s hoofs. Not sure if I would consider removing the legs of the bullfighter. Interesting also that it appears that not only the hoofs of the bull are in the air, but that the dirt (lower left side) is still up in the air; and you say your camera is “not the fastest? |
