78 Jul 24 Reply I know AI is not allowed in competition or PSA, but I love developing my skills across platforms. Hopefully, as AI is adapted more in industry and other spaces, it will evolve into the competitive space as well.

78 Jul 24 Comment I like the suggestion to experiment with different crops. Although I must admit I dont have any favorites... but would like those most that allow more focus on the bird. Jul 29th
78 Jul 24 Comment I have nothing substantive to add. It is a beautiful composition and stunning subject. Jul 29th
78 Jul 24 Comment Its an interesting image concept. I am not a fan of the color version. I appreciate the black and white version but agree that the enhancements in the revision suggested by Jim's photo has more clarity and definition of the image. Jul 29th
78 Jul 24 Comment I love the color composition - it is surreal and fantasy- like. It reminds me more of a painting than a photograph... I could almost conjure up a story just by viewing it.

The black and white image is interesting, as well, more science fiction like. The two photos seem like completely different worlds - with different compelling stories. Thanks for presenting both!

78 Jul 24 Comment I agree the original image background was distracting and I like the approach to blur. I am somehow drawn to the shadows at the bottom - they seem more pronouced in both revisions. Not sure -- what if anything could have been done to minimize or eliminate them from the composition. Brenda's cropped revision addresses some of it... but I wonder how it would it would look to photoshop the rest of the shadow out to focus solely on the subject? Jul 29th
78 Jul 24 Reply Love your revision Jim! Both the cropping and added color improved the image. Jul 29th
78 Jul 24 Reply Noted and will keep this in mind for future postings. Jul 29th
78 Jul 24 Reply Noted and thanks! Will experiment with increasing the contrast in the future. Jul 29th
78 Jul 24 Reply I love the monochrome version and will experiment with more useage in the future. Thanks! Jul 29th
78 Jul 24 Comment I find the image captivating and something I would normally blend with AI to achieve the effects you have here. I like that the subject is front, center, and engaging. The color of the material and the eye coloring serve to nail the focus on the subject. Jul 29th

81 Jul 24 Comment Thank you for sharing the story behind capturing and editing this beautiful portrait. Sitting in the bleachers, using a monopod to steady the lens, and framing the essence of a stunning woman-it's phenomenal. I'm awestruck by how the light graces her face, the brightness of her brown eyes, and the intricate details of her jewelry and cultural dress. This is truly a photo where a picture is worth a thousand words. Well done, Tom, and thank you for sharing a part of your weekend at the Indian Pow-wow with us. I love experiencing this adventure through the lens of your camera. Jul 29th
81 Jul 24 Comment What creativity and innovation in turning common food items into a captivating image! The lighting is nearly perfect, the placement is great, the colors pop, and the composition is engaging.

It's fascinating to think that this image evolved from a simple visit to a friend, imagining it could transform into something greater-almost metaphorically a life story.

Great job, and congratulations on the show!

81 Jul 24 Comment Kurt, I like what you have done in the second version. The focus is on the sky and tall building -- that is the story you appear to be telling here.

In either the original or the revised version you could experiment with bluring the other buildings in the composition for more impact and focus on the main subject in the image.

Great job and great storytelling!

81 Jul 24 Comment While I appreciate all three compositions, I'm particularly drawn to the black-and-white one in the original set. The uncropped photo provides a mysterious composition that feels both abstract and ominous. The gulls seem to be part of the broader universe, integrated into the lines of the scene.

It must have been a wonderful experience to see the world from a helicopter. Well done, Randall! Thank you for sharing this beautiful scene in Alaska.

81 Jul 24 Comment Rose your creativity and imagination inspired a great composition that tells a story! I love it... but I agree that a blur of the map in the background would enhance the prominence of the image of the men in the foreground. Jul 29th
81 Jul 24 Comment I like the crop and the selection of three flowers on the left chosen. However, in the original, I wonder if you experimented with selecting the three (or two) flowers on the right? It may achieve a similar composition with more space to eliminate some of the crowding that others have mentioned. Jul 29th
81 Jul 24 Comment Thanks for your kind words, sharing your experience in capturing bird imges, and for your encouragement. I will keep trying! Jul 29th
81 Jul 24 Reply Randall, thank you for your encouragement. Jul 29th
81 Jul 24 Reply Thank you for your kind words. Also thank you for the great suggestions which I will try in future attempts to capture bird images. Jul 29th
81 Jul 24 Reply Thanks for the kind words and the acknowledgement that birds are difficult to capture. I agree more cropping at the bottom of the image will improve the focus on the bird for a better composition. Jul 29th
81 Jul 24 Reply Noted and thank you. I agree and will try to improve in future attempts to capture bird images. Jul 29th
