A tighter crop may help bring attention to the detail you have in the feathers. The white sky does not bother me in this case. I do think that there is a little of purple fringe along the edge of the bird that can be fixed easily in Lightroom. |

You did very well with this image. You picked the perfect time of night to get a nice dark blue sky and picked the correct aperture to get the nice starbursts from the lights. Perhaps if the competition rules do not allow you to remove the crane, you could try darkening that corner to make it less noticeable. |

Very nice atmospheric shot. I have always wanted to go to that sculpture garden (my parents live very close). I share Al's feeling with the crop. I do think that the brightness of the lily lads pulls the viewer from the main subject, but they do add nice depth to the image overall. Perhaps darkening them would do the trick. |

I agree with Fred. Since the girls on the right are a bit out of focus, cropping so that the in focus girls make up the majority of the image is a great idea. It also makes it easier to focus on their expressions. |

I like how the image invites you in. I like Fred's crop because it removes the most distracting elements, but still gives you a hint of what lies beyond the gate. My only suggestion at an improvement would have been a slightly larger depth of field so more of the gate would be in focus (while still keeping the background blurry). |
