Jim, your sharp image of the weed and seeds are iconic of winter in the north. Perfect! Henry Roberts, group 40 of Duluth, Minnesota. |

Catherine, really nice observation and capture on your part. The reflection is much better than a straight shot would be.
Don Hill had some good ideas for small improvements. |

Andrew, thank you for your comment on the context of the image. And yes, I should have lightened the dark areas of the left hand horse. |

Ling Ling, I'm sorry you are feeling depressed now and hope that changes.
I like the black and white image - to me in Northern Minnesota this is what winter is, sometimes glistening in full sunlight, other times a dull gray. I like the line of tracks winding in from the left and I like the foreground of perhaps snow covered grass. And I like the repetition of trees in the background.
The trees - is this an area of Yellowstone that suffered a summer forest fire deleting all of the needles of spruce trees leaving bare trunks and branches?
I would be tempted to crop in on the right side a little. |

Janice, I have trouble understanding what negative space is so please enlighten me. That aside, I would do some cropping on the top to eliminate all of the dark background. And I would crop in on the bottom to make the fox a definite center of interest. Well, I guess I would crop in on the sides too. But maybe that eliminates negative space. |

Don, you continue your wonderful building images where you find something of central interest to characterize the building. Your post processing is always amazing.
Your image title I find a little misleading as I can't see a penthouse in what appears to be a railing. But the image is great! |

Julie, I prefer image #2 with the border which separates it from the rest of the background.
When I first saw this I thought wow, this really shows what we eat and smiled. Your cropping and post processing make it a hugely interesting image. Nitpicking, I might suggest eliminating the twig in the upper right hand corner. |

Andrew, lots to absorb here. Obviously it was a rainy day causing reflections. The rivets are interesting, lines of them, but then an outline of something, probably on the interior of the hull. Then the repetitious grouping of 12 holes together. The yellow ballard centers the image. And the reflections of light from the wet metal add contrast and interest. I think your post processing really made this interesting which would have been a flat image without it. |
