Catherine, I suppose you could do some post processing but I think anything you do would degrade your vision. I wouldn't crop because then you would lose the expansive feeling of the night sky on the island. If you increased contrast, you would lose some of the night feeling. Others may disagree, but I think you captured what you saw. Nice work! |

Don, in your post to Ling Ling you suggest using AI in the new PS to add to the right. Where do you find the AI and how do you do it? |

Ling, Ling, for a thick foggy day, you captured a wonderful image of an iceberg. If you increased the contrast, you would lose the feeling of the day and the hazy sun. If you tried cropping, it would be too tight. I think you have ended with a perfect image to show the day. Congratulations. |

Hi Don, thanks for the comments about history and telling stories. As to adjustment masks, I need to work with them. |

Thanks Ling Ling. I live on the shore of Lake Superior and have recorded a number of cloud pictures which I can use in other images. |

Don, what a magnificent job you did of taking a record shot and turning it into a beautiful image! I like your cropping and your selection of the white buildings to get the lines straight. The contrast and brightness of the brown building on the left really pops as does the white building. The contrast of building styles serves to increase the beauty of your image.
Nice work!
It has been a while since I have been in SF - I am curious as to where you took this image?
And I am really sad that there are now street robberies. I used to wander at will throughout SF day and night without fear in the 1960s. |

Julie, this is a fun abstraction which centers the eye on the geometric design of the railing. Monochrome handling is perfect for this image. To me your contrast setting is where it should be. Great image. |

Andrew, I like the concept of this image. It is a museum, it is a gallery and it is simple, the art objects and viewers in discussion. The lighting is good. Could you crop out the image on the left? No, because you would then be cropping out part of the stand holding the sculpture.
Could you crop out the female sculpture on the right? Well, yes you could. But I think that crop should not be done. As your image is now, the eye roves from the wooden sculpture, to the two women in discussion to the female sculpture and maybe to the portrait on the left. This image fully captures the feeling of a museum gallery's starkness with a few items to be fully appraised without a lot of surrounding clutter.
Great image! |
