Catherine, this is a very striking image of Lil Dan. I have two thoughts, the first being to have more room on the left to imagine Lil moving to.
The second one is more difficult to solve: to me the soft grasses are a distraction. As you probably did not have a brush cutter at hand, perhaps you could close your aperture for more depth of field until the grasses become as sharp as the boat.
Nice work!

Lin, congratulations on immortalizing a common flower that we see in spring! Your use of a 300mm setting makes the dandelion clear and sharp while blurring the background.
Were it me, I would be tempted to crop in on the dandelion and place it off center into one of the 1/3rd positions.
Nice work.
I am sorry to lose you from the group. Come back when you can once again devote time to photography. |

Jamie, I think this beautifully done and quite appropriate in black and white. That the water is milky but the grasses and plants are sharp works perfectly. Cheers! |

Don, what a wonderful day and drive that must have been! You really captured spring.
I personally would crop a little differently as here. But to each his own taste.

Catherine, you are correct, the light background is detracting from the flowers. I should have darkened down the background. |

Good suggestions Andrew, especially cropping in on the top. As to cropping of the leaves on the bottom, I will in the future, make sure I don't crop out the bottom of a composition. |

Julie, good cropping and good title. Perhaps darkening the highlights of the guitar and the stage would keep them from being a distraction. Well, a change of thought. Leave some highlights on the guitar to attract attention to the musician and his guitar. |

Hmm, Andrew, I like your black and white. But personally I would like to be closer to be able to read the text and see the statue. But I think your intention was to include the setting so your cropping is correct.
Catherine has a good suggestion.

Lisa, I'm pleased that something I did inspired you to create "birds aren't real" which is so real in its simplicity. Your text of conspiracy theory really adds to the context. The above comments are interesting. |

Nadia, what fun you must have had thinking this up and carrying it out. Perhaps lightening the figure slightly would help as I almost didn't recognize the dark area as a person. I like the bent light and flock of birds in the background. |

Tom, nice concept, nice carry through. I would suggest lightening the moon a little but that is nit picking. |

Hazel, what a beautiful montage you have crafted full of motion and excitement. My wife comments that the girl is happy and joyful. Your painting of the background is masterful. You are an artist!
The comments of the others are interesting. |

Brad, nice composting. However, I have some trouble visualizing the journey going from a beach into a forest. But of course, you are working with the images you already have in your computer. How about using your title and see if you can remove the wave.
Also I would remove what is probably an under water breathing tube from their heads which I find distracting.
Well, now I have read the comments of the others, see that they were seeing well beyond me, and agree with their thoughts.
Nice work! Beautiful young women! |
