Lin, I think you did a great job and I think your darkening of the leaves is perfect. Your B&W version really accentuates the lilies. |

Catherine, this is a really nice image capturing the decay of a walkway from past years. Some might object but I like the grasses on the right, even though they are not sharp, because they add depth and character.
Suggestion? If possible I would have included a little more marsh on the left side, thus taking the walkway out of a dead center position.
You have a wonderful eye at capturing these images! |

Great shot Lin, captured with the rising sun in the right place. Your post processing really worked.
If this were mine, I would clone out the two power line poles to the right of the sun, thereby removing any human artifacts, but leaving the natural tree branches. |

Don, the Hornet must be somewhere over in Oakland in a naval area that I have never explored. I like the black and white version, the highlights in the sky, and the cropping. As a personal preference, I might slightly crop the foreground up to the darker horizontal area in the water. |

Julie, great image with lots of human interest, especially with the happy smile of the child on the left. At first I wished you hadn't cropped off the top but then I realized it would leave a blank white spot in the upper right corner. So your cropping is good. |

Andrew, great photo somewhat reminiscent of the Sidney Opera House. I think Topaz Studio helped and is not overly over the top. The aquarium skylight must make for interesting lighting within. |

Lisa, as always you are creative in your submissions. I like the twirl that you have added.
The comments above are far stronger than any comments I could make. |

Tom, the spirituality and introspection of talking to God by man and the deer of nature are very powerful in this image. |

Brian, the simple beauty of two lilies is commendable. The Fractalius Filter gets to the essence of the flowers. I have no suggestions to add to this magnificent image.
Where does one find the Fractalius Filter? |

Hazel, Shapes with rose motif 2 I find engaging and interesting. The shapes and their varying colors challenge the viewer to explore how each fits and overlaps with its neighbors. The roses are laid out in a circular motion and slightly varying size. Although this image at first glance appears quite simple, one quickly is challenged to see what you the artist are doing. If it were on my living room wall, I would spend a great deal of time in contemplation of how it all blends into a beautiful work of art.
Hazel, do you have a website?
I went to your bio to see what your background is to be so creative. In your bio you referenced Valda Bailey who I googled. I found a treasure trove of artistic references which I will explore and hopefully engage in workshops. Thank you for broadening my horizons. |

Brad, this is an interesting image. The forest and trail are truly ethereal as is the figure. As to the title, if this is an ascent, it might be better conveyed if the lights could be moved out to the ends of his hands to indicate his arms going up and down.
Brian has an interesting analysis.
Northern lights - I hope you and your friend captured some exciting images. We in northern Minnesota do on occasion have specticular displays which I shall have to capture. |

Naida, I like it - - a lot. I like the crispness and contrast of the image. I like the way you have skillfully composted your final result. I like the way the tree is gobbling up the pizza. I like the way you have taken a thought concept and portrayed it with an image.
I think Brian's analysis is a far better critique than mine. |

Hi Brian, I like your two versions, particularly this second one. But I still like my version also. Mine has more elements which may cause a viewer to spend more time examining it. Yours cuts to a center of interest. Each gets to a different viewpoint.
Thanks as always to your very thoughtful critiques. |
