Andrew, this is a very soft, dreamy image which could go well as a greeting card. I don't think you have to crop off the purple right side but either way works.
I also very much like the original image.

I can't say brown pelican chicks are especially appealing to me but you have really captured them! To me the highlights are a little burned out so perhaps reduce the contrast or darken the image slightly.
The above commenters have good suggestions. |

Alison, I like the three images you chose and that you were trying yourself a technique a Spanish artist (whose work I was not familiar with) who you admired. I think you need to work some more on the beach to fill out your repertoire.
My personal preference would be to tone down the framing and framing colors which I think detract from your beautiful images. I think the others have good suggestions.

Zip, I think you are one brave dog to trade kisses with an elk even if there is a fence between you!
This is human or should we say animal interest. I don't know what you cropped from as the orignal image isn't posted but I think this is really good for spur of the moment. Keep it the way it is. |

Anne, nice observation and capture of shadows! Both black and white and color work with this image. I am personally drawn to color so to answer your question, my choice would be color. |

Anne, it could be sharper but I worked with what I had. |

Yes Andrew, I did crop a little too tightly. |

Julie, I like your cropping but I like the original crop too. I think the young man peering around the pillar at the two women and the Secrets all work together for heightened interest. How about doing some spotting on the pillars?
Street photography used to be quite common in say the 60s and 70s but now in this era people are uncomfortable with it. I do it on occasion and will then ask the subjects if it is ok. If they are uncomfortable with it I will delete it for them. Or I do it in such a way or post process in such a way that in the final image they are not recognizable. Posted: 07/13/2021 19:11:17

Great Andrew. How about trying with a wider aperture to blur the background a little and also moving a little to the left so the post is closer to the right margin. |

Lisa, great capture of the wings and intensity of the eye of the eagle as it is passing overhead. It just shouts action and intensity. I have not suggestions to such a fine image. |

Jan, I like how you worked this out with three images but kept the woman sharp. The color values are good to bring it all together. I can just imagine the woman walking the street in her own world imagining how she would use all of the clothing. I have no suggestions.
Brad and Kathy have interesting suggestions for variations but I like what you have done and don't think it needs to be changed. |

Tom, I like the concept and creation that you worked out in this image. A lot of experimentation must have gone into this. On my monitor I cannot see you - perhaps I should brighten my monitor or you should brighten yourself slightly.
Kathy has fun ideas for textures. |

Kathy, I really like what you have done here. It is impressionistic, yet imparts some realism of the flower garden. The cropping and the placement of the pot in the upper right work. I do not think of any suggestions to make. |

Hi Tom. I take it you mean to clone in the woman and dog as originally photographed after applying the filters to the rest of the scene which would make the woman and dog stand out. I hadn't thought of that. Good idea! |

Brad, good suggestion for an alternative. And yes, it is distracting that I cut off the crane but I didn't realize it until I was in post processing 150 miles away. Which says to me "while taking a scene, take a moment to examine the image before leaving. And also include more than what you want at the edges because it is easier to crop than add.
"Here's my thinking for my version. Often I want something in the background that viewers can also spend some time contemplating and that sets the overall scene of the image which here is some of the varied Minneapolis skyline.
I also was unhappy with the upper left blank area but did not have the time to fill it with something such as some gulls or maybe a plane or cloud. |
