Catherine, this is an interesting image but I wish it had a little more such as a center of interest. Perhaps that would be a gull sitting on one of the timbers or perhaps you could take a picture of a gull and make a composite of it on the timber. Or wait for the power boat to move out into the center of the water. Well, you are so skilled at finding water images, I am sure you will find some new examples to post. |

Alison, you captured a slightly mystic feeling here with Cooper walking unaware of the alien peering out the window. A viewer wonders where has the alien come from and what is going to happen to Cooper.
I do not mind that Cooper's legs are cut off for it brings him and the alien closer to each other and the viewer making it more intimate. |

Jamie, this is a wonderful image in its simplicity. The curves of the petals are what make this image. I would be interested to see what the original color image looks like, perhaps soft muted pastels. I would be interested to see this done with a tripod and more depth of field but my recollection of the Buchart gardens is that one has to stay on the walkways and probably cannot use a tripod. |

Anne, you have a wonderful chipping sparrow portrait which, as you say, doesn't reveal that you were shooting through window glass. To be a little contrary here, I would retain the leaf and three twigged branch just to reduce the amount of black background. |

Julie, I like the repetition of angles and lattice work that you have isolated and enhanced. Personally for my own taste for this black and white image, I would print lighter and more contrasty. |

Andrew, I think you did a marvelous job with the situation as you found it. I like the pedestrians because they add humanity and scale which would otherwise be absent. I might crop out a little of the right side but leave the pedestrians in. |

Lisa, it is another one of your images that bubbles forth from your creative mind. Who would have thought this would have come from a daffodil? And who would have been so successful painting a daffodil blue?
So what are you going to tease us with next month?

Hmmm, love of my life might be good title. Jan, you did a good job with the tree and faces without making it overcrowded. The woodpecker adds just a touch of reality to a whimsical image. What a wonderful artistic creation!
Tom has a good idea, not necessarily better but just an equally good but different version. |

Tom, you really did a top notch job of creating a composite of your various photos into a "covidit." Were I doing it, I would be tempted to clone out the roots and branches hanging down at the front of the tunnel. The house and bats are definitely a nice touch. |

Maryellen, I think you have a great small scene and abstract here. But I also think you have a lot of smaller scenes if you cropped in on different small sections of the scene. I don't know what it was at Sea Ranch but if it were Minnesota I would say it was small yellow lichens scattered across a rock outcropping. |

Kathy, what a nice blending you did in this composite to achieve your somewhat mystical result. It all works for me except in reality I get the impression that Mr. Hawk is sizing up the songbirds for an instant meal.
As to the mixer brush and the composting, I agree with the others that you did a masterful job which I will try to do myself. |

Yes, I too think we get distracted by our phones. The desaturation works. As always, you pack meaning into your composites.
Tom Kredo's version appeals to me because of it's simplification |
