Catherine, this is a nice still life showing a workman's bench.
Some things that would be fun to play with would be the following. You could move to the left to see if looking straight on at the workbench would be more interesting. The objects on the bench - how do they relate to each other? You could build a duck hunting still life around the decoy, a nautical or construction theme around the pulley, other tools with the screwdriver, etc. I think you have all sorts of possibilities to work with here. The lighting looks like back window lighting which would be fun to work with, perhaps generating some shadows. And you could work with the background bricks to accentuate the still life.
Have fun playing!
The above comments have some interesting ideas to play with. |

Alison, your working on a thought provoking silhouette paid off! Your post processing brought more interest into the sky colors and the docks going into the background distance. I might be tempted to clone or crop out the point coming in on the right side. But that's your call.
Nice work! |

Moira, always having your camera with you really paid off in your human interest capture here! Your post processing helped significantly.
Cropping - personally I would not be tempted to crop the left side as that would leave in the image the reflection of the worker but this is a subjective call which could go either way.
Great image!
I would agree with Andrew that toning down the white strip in the top right hand corner would be helpful. |

Andrew, yes I agree I did crop a little too tightly and I did want to get rid of the blue knee in the background. It would have been easy to clone out the blue knee into the dark background. |

Thanks for your thoughts Alison. I agree with you that cloning out the distractions would have worked better than cropping tightly as I did. |

This is a captivating portrait of two very interesting individuals that I would like to know more about. What are their interests and what is the significance of their hats and adornments. I cannot think of any suggestions or improvements.
What is a steam punk festival?
I enjoyed the back and forth comments of you and Alison. |

Jan, nice job in creating an eye catching photo. You did a lot of work, changing the background color, intensifying the red of the car, adding the power line and bird poop. |

Sue, what fun you have creating your images! I like the way your dog is looking out at viewers. Nice work on adding the shadows.
To me the size of the dinosaur, bird, and dog do not quite look right. Perhaps you could change them in PS Edit>transform. |

What a great picture for your grandson to receive at camp! You did a fine job in composting the two images together, replacing your grandson where the tree was.
So did you send some more fun cards to your grandson?

Kathy, this works as a creation of your imagination! Nice idea, nice implementation.
I believe you were trying to get a shining sun effect but I personally feel the tulip tops and the scarf are a little burned out. |

Brad, I had to laugh when I saw this image you created. A monkey fern! Wow! The luminosity blending worked well.
I might be tempted to darken down the background highlights a little bit.
Nice creative work!
I enjoyed your back and forth comments with the above others that commented, especially how you think over time about how you want to put images together from your collection. |
